Creative Practice Day 44

Part two
  If I could paint
what a hilarious thought
I would paint three things

  I spoke before of mighty clouds
reflective in their glory
heaven's dam of power

  My love too is captured by the heavens themselves
infinite tiny brilliances
arcing over earth
ever present
still singing the song they began at the beginning of the world

  a canvas of points
that humanity has projected itself onto
for the short life of our kind
even our earliest kin
wove their stories into the velvet abyss
which we so carefully hang below

  on nights when those distant stars
rest in the bosom of void
looking up
feels more real than looking down
I live for those nights

  Infinite does not approach the deepness of the sky
now, with all our science
and all we know
we still call it "cosmos"
Greek for preparation
and order

  I could never receate
what rests above my head
every night
and every day
unfailing in precision
and perfect flight

  I still look upon
those untamed heavens
with the eyes of a 5-year old
seeing something
all at once
in perfect
harmonious chaos
