Creative Practice Day 4
General Summary
Ashewynn winced when the aasimar girl boarded her ship. First of all, she was glowing, literally, and Ashewynn was very hungover. Secondly, she could feel the radiant, holy magic of the celestials orbitng her like lazy asteroids. A power anathema to the being she served.
"Such a lovely boat you have Captain Ashewynn! When will we be ready to set sail?" The aasimar's wings fluttered slightly as she fought to keep her balance on the rocking floor.
"Give myself and crew about 2 hours. Make yourself comfortable in your cabin and try to stay out of the way till we set sail. After that I'll give you a tour if I have the time."
"Wonderful! I can't wait. Before you go, can I as you a question?"
"Go right ahead kid. " Ashewynn said.
"Can you tell me about the squid tattoo on your arm? I've only seen one like it once before." Ashewynn froze. This kid was trouble.
"Oh! Uh. Sure. It's an old sailor's tradition. Got mine when I was just a crewmate. Doesn't mean much of anything." This was not the first time Ashewynn told that lie. The bright girl cocked her head to the side to get a better look.
"Fascinating. Thank you for indulging my question. I'll stay in my cabin till you come get me for the launch, so I am out of everyone's way." The brightness had almost left her voice.
"Idle curiosity kid but where'd you see the other tattoo like mine?"
"Oh. Well. A man attacked myself and my group of fellow travellers once. He killed my friend, and in turn I killed him. I can't lie,, it was the first thing I noticed about you."
"I am sorry to hear about you and your friends. Not all sailors are trustworthy. In fact many aren't. Always keep your eyes open kid.
"Believe me, after that, my eyes are always open." Something hung in the tone of her voice that left a shiver down Ashewynn's spine.
