Creative Practice Day 28

General Summary

Eliza thought she was alone in the courtyard. She thought he couldn't see her there.

Yet

Flakes of frost slowly spread from the far corner of the open space of the sunny temple. The fountain in the center trickled to a halt, surface freezing over. Eliza noticed this startling presence of cold as her breath made a cloud, and the summers heat seemed to be unwoven in an instant.

His voice was terrible.

"Are you trying to hide, child? In this ramshackle arrangement of bricks and mortar, amidst the squalor of the dens of your wretched kin?" Her voice shook as she answered in her mind,

"No my lord. My group stopped here to sleep, they are out shopping and I thought I would take a little time to rest."

"Indeed you have. Rest... Of course you need it. But I have plans and purposes for you here."

"You do?"

"Yes."

"W-what would you have me do?"

"Follow my lead." The dark voice tugged at her mind and she found herself wandering through the small seaside villiage. She came upon an ancient well, covered in moss but showing signs of frequent use. "Drop the pouch into the well child"

"Why?"

"You must. Or I will freeze the blood in your veins again. I need this to happen. You must do this for me." With a shaky hand she held the pouch over the well. Dark vapor rose from the slightly open neck of the pouch. It was acrid, pungent, and nauseating.
