Creative Practice Day 26

General Summary

"and you, mortal, would willingly and defiantly walk into the court of a vampire without fear?" Lady Esriza looked in surprise at the old mortal woman, frail as she was, standing before her.

"Her ladyship is correct. I am without fear. I've lived a long time, if you kill the messenger, you aren't killing one of the young and healthy ones." Sarah, said. Esriza's eyes narrowed. This seemed like a trap.

"You have a message for me, old woman? Spit it out"

"Gladly, your ladyship. You have five days." Some in the court began to laugh and mock whatever monster hunter the town had hired. Esriza looked genuinly worried. "Unless you leave, you and your court will be entirely destroyed. Understand this warning is a mercy. If you'll allow it, I will take my leave. My message is complete." Sarah bowed, and turned to leave. The nobles of the court looked to Esriza for the signal to pounce and consume their prey, dark eyes filled with lust.

"Open the doors. Let this one go." The vampire said, waving her hand. "But before you go, mortal. Who has given you this message?" As the doors opened the setting moon looked like the old woman now had a blazing halo of molten silver. Vampires cried out throughout the court as the moonlight now burned them the same way the sunlight of the day did. Sarah grinned.

"Her brilliance, Selune sent me. You have five days until the moon is full."
