Creative Practice Day 23

General Summary

"And would a wizard such as yourself know to repel down a cliff such as this?" Anthara asked. With a subtle stern look, Selthas responded,

"I do not. I concede you this point, you talented warrior. However, I have no need to repel down the cliff."

"Oh? The nearest place the cliff is navigable without rope is twelve miles south of where you need to be. If I can do my math correctly, thats a 26 mile detour for you." She looked smug.

"24." The wizard looked somewhat more smug, if it was possible. "And I don't need that either. I'll meet you at the bottom, Anthara." Without another word the wizard stepped off the great cliff and began to plummet towards probably instant, probably painful death. Eyes wide Anthara ran to the edge and saw a burst of light as the wizard suddenly stopped in midair, suspended by some arcane means. Gentle as an autumn leaf he slid back and forth in the air till he landed with a soft bump on the forest floor, two hundred feet below. "I think I shall have myself a nap while you scale the cliff! Wake me when you have made it down." Selthas called out. With exasperation Anthara pinched the bridge of her nose. By now she should have anticipated some ridiculous stunt from the small, bookish man. Grudgingly, she grabbed her rope and climbing equipment from her pack and began the descent down the long, treacherous cliff face.

"I think magic is cheating, wizard. Next time, you will repel with me so you get to experience life without it. "

"So you made it! Wonderful. And I'd rather not. Its so much more efficient."

"That may be, but you are soft. Even with your magic, that is a weakness that will creep upon you like a panther if you do not strengthen yourself. You are overconfident."
