Creative Practice Day 13
General Summary
"Hello Pytr!" Called the soft voice of Ellenquin from up on one of the sliding ladders. "How are you today?"
"Hello Ellenquin. I am just fine. Bit tired. Gloomy weather and all, you know?"
"Oh yes. I've had just the worst headache these last two days."
"Oh that's miserable. I hate those."
"It will pass. It's nice the archive is so dim. What can I help you find today?
"I am looking for a record from Ebselon IV, he was a ruler back in the uh... Let me see. The Niathon period, some 9,000 years ago. There was an inscription he used to awake a tree spirit to stop an oncoming army. Do you have anything on that?"
"Let me look Pytr. That is very specific but we do have a number of similar materials..." Pytr knew her sightless eyes were roaming every item in the archive, all 250 floors. "Here is Ebselon the Undying, he was his son... now there's his father, the third. Not much to say about him... Aha. Was it inscribed on an iron disk and thrown into a pool of oil kept in the temple?"
"Yes! That's the one. should be a small chunk missing from the upper... left?"
"Yes. It is on floor 97 in section Aravat 65. I'll take you there, there is no small amount of construction between here and there."
"I wondered if that was still going on."
"Oh yes, of course. They never seem to run out of things that need fixing. I've yet to catch one of the workers breaking things as they go so as to have more to do." Ellenquin swung down from her podium and joined Pytr on the walkway over the great archive casm. They reached a winding stair that flowed gently, seemingly forever. They passed ancient tablets, more books than imagineable, and more than one sacred weapon.
"Having the archive built inside a mountain has it's perks. But I just get so cold down here." Pyter said, drawing his shawl closer around him.
"Really? I haven't noticed." Ellenquin said, bare feet padding along on the freezing stone.
