Overview
Shaftesbury’s Soot-House is the operational headquarters of Porter Shaftesbury's sweep crew, located at 9 Spall Wynd in the Burnside District, Cabinet. Structurally, the building comprises a basement retrofitted with coffins for Griggs' Crew's livability and rest, a ground floor soot-yard for chimney equipment and logistical intake, and a modest second-floor master's suite occupied by Porter. In terms of interior, the building is one of the more intact properties in the otherwise crumbling Burnside, purchased and renovated shortly after Shaftesbury arrived from Bristol. The outside facade appears as dilapidated as its surroundings. Though presented as a legitimate sweep contractor's yard, it serves primarily as a base for Porter's vampire network and associated criminal infrastructure.
