Sessions 4/5 21 Feb / 01 Mar 2025

General Summary

The Winter Wanderers set out from their camp the morning after their encounter with the Stench Kows. Feeling unexpectedly refreshed, they made good time on the road, stopping in Havenmoor for an uneventful evening and the comfort of a proper bed. On the 25th of Sunsebb, they resumed their journey toward Harthmill, the next checkpoint on their path to Vexaris.   That evening, the party camped at a Common rest stop outside the village, sharing the site with a caravan traveling in the opposite direction. During the night, Saluda overheard arguing from the other camp, and early the next morning, Bleddyn noticed someone attempting to sneak away. The individual, D’Jon, revealed that his caravan was transporting a device capable of mass-producing written pages. After a lengthy negotiation, Bleddyn resolved a dispute within the caravan and struck a deal to print his BB Tales Vol. 1, securing 30% of any profits. D’Jon agreed to set up his contraption in Rozcesti, where he would reconnect with the party to explore the opportunity further. Upon arriving at the outskirts of Harthmill, the group discovered a large split boulder adorned with offerings and inscribed with Goblin Thieves’ Cant. Bleddyn respectfully added to the offerings. As they continued into town, a squadron of Wyvern Riders flew low overhead, spooking their horses and damaging the wagon. The party quickly found help at the Golden Hoof Market, where Amoz Brightfoot connected them with an artisan who agreed to repair their wagon for a fee.   While in town, they noticed a small, hooded figure pinning a poster to the bulletin board. The notice was a plea for help, explaining that children and friends had gone missing. They also learned that a unit of Valkan, including Wyvern Riders, was addressing an incursion by Bugbears and Hobgoblins North of the town, along the road to Rozcesti.   After indulging in tacos at the Copper Ear Tavern, the party investigated the plea for help. They met a goblin named Gibz, who explained that his clan, which maintained a discreet and symbiotic relationship with Harthmill, had suffered a string of disappearances, including children. The party agreed to assist and began investigating. Their efforts revealed that a clan member, Rikz, was secretly a Barghest preying on lone goblins. The party confronted Rikz, defeating and burning the Barghest. In gratitude, Goblin Chief Skrat rewarded them with 50 gold pieces and the Hallow Fang Amulet.   After a long and eventful day, the Winter Wanderers retired for the night in Harthmill and spent the nextr day resting and waiting for their wagon to be repaired, ending their session on the morning of the 28th of Sunsebb.
