Eranor Steelbrook

Eranor Steelbrook is the pragmatic and resilient mayor of Bazina, a small town nestled in the marshes of southern Grimizan. A seasoned leader with a sharp mind and a deep-rooted sense of responsibility, he is fiercely protective of his town and its people. While not heartless, Eranor is a man who prioritizes practicality over sentiment, making tough decisions for the sake of Bazina’s survival and prosperity—even at the cost of upsetting those who disagree with him. Appearance • Race: Dwarf • Age: Late 50s (young for a dwarf but seasoned in leadership) • Build: Stocky and broad-shouldered, with the weathered toughness of a man who’s spent years working in rough conditions. • Hair & Beard: Iron-gray hair and a thick, well-groomed beard streaked with silver. He braids it tightly to keep it neat, often adorned with small, functional iron clasps. • Eyes: Deep-set, dark brown, filled with a calculating intensity. • Attire: Prefers practical clothing suited for the swamp—sturdy boots, a reinforced leather coat, and a broad-brimmed hat to shield him from the damp air. He wears a steel brooch in the shape of an anvil, a symbol of both his dwarven heritage and his steadfast leadership. Personality & Traits ✅ Pragmatic – A realist who makes decisions based on necessity, not idealism. ✅ Resilient – No stranger to hardship, he pushes forward no matter the obstacle. ✅ Protective – Will do whatever it takes to ensure Bazina’s survival. ❌ Stubborn – Once he makes a decision, it’s difficult to sway him. ❌ Skeptical – Distrusts outsiders, especially those with connections to Fey creatures. ❌ Blunt – Doesn't sugarcoat his words, which can make him come across as cold or dismissive. Backstory Eranor was not born in Bazina but settled there decades ago as a merchant and craftsman, supplying tools and materials to settlers looking to carve out a life in the swamp. Over time, his keen business acumen and natural leadership skills made him a respected figure in the community. When Bazina needed structure and protection, Eranor stepped up and was eventually elected mayor, bringing order and stability to the small but growing town. His leadership during the expansion of Bazina saw him make difficult but necessary choices—one of which was the destruction of part of the swamp to ensure the town’s growth. Eranor believes that sacrifices were required for progress, a stance that has put him at odds with those who wish to preserve the natural balance
