Wanda

Geography

Wanda is a G-type luminous giant that dominates the system with a swollen photosphere whose surface extends far beyond that of a typical main sequence star. Its surface is defined by immense upwellings of plasma that rise and burst across its yellow-white surface. The star’s chromosphere stretches unusually high, forming a golden atmospheric haze composed of superheated hydrogen and plasma. Above this, the giant’s corona flares irregularly into space and curves outward; toward its companion.

Ecosystem Cycles

The luminous giant’s shape is asymmetrical: one hemisphere bulges slightly toward the red dwarf under tidal strain that creates a region of enhanced turbulence. This tidal bulge is framed by glowing arcs of magnetic flux that continually snap and reconnect as the star rotates, producing intense localized bright spots.

Localized Phenomena

Accretion Bridge

The siphoning that occurs through the inner Lagrange point is not a continuous stream. The gravitational balance between the two stars waver with their orbit. Both stars swell and contract in subtle moments when their outer atmospheres overflow just enough to spill across their gravitational threshold. Sometimes the plasma is pulled in a luminous spiral. Other times, the filament will whip outwards in a violent flare. This interaction generates pulses of colour-shifted light in both stars that give the siphoning an almost breathlike cadence.
