Alice de Vries
Alice de Vries is an Enchanted human living in Manhattan, New York. She's the girlfriend of selkie Jennifer Lyons and was enchanted by Jennifer's motley-mate, Adelaide Peters.
Her life before moving to New York was a standard middle-class upbringing. Like many women, the most she has is a high school education, and when she moved from her hometown of Hoboken, NJ, she wanted to "make it" in the big city.
Oh, not to be an actress or a singer, but to make something of herself. To enjoy the glitz and glam and freedom of New York on no one's terms but her own. It's been hard, but Alice is a woman of great optimism and positivity, and even things that could be seen as degrading (such as her side gig as a dancer) she has no qualms doing and even enjoys!
She met Jennifer Lyons in July 1968, and they have been dating since then, and Alice became an Enchanted.
In April 1970, Adelaide Peters permanently Enchants Alice, so she no longer has to worry about forgetting when her Glamour runs out. She quits her job to become a nanny for Ocean Rose and Ocean's adoptive sibling, Danny Thackery.
Over time, Alice becomes disenchanted with her role as nothing more than a servant to the motley - relying on their generosity to continue to experience the world that fascinates her. It is during this time, when she is lonely and isolated, that she makes friends with the ancient vampire Tamerlane II. Tamerlane is a good friend to her, and upon his reveal of his true nature, he begins to teach her sorcery.
In 1975, she unfortunately was Rhapsodied by Lady Greene and is now considered devoid of Glamour, unable to be Enchanted or create.

Alice is the quintessential mod/go-go girl. She dresses in the white vinyl go-go boots, sheath dresses with the bold earrings, teased hair and colorful headbands, the whole nine yards.
Now, she dresses in the first thing she sees, incapable of creating an outfit or fashion like she used to.

Worked at an ice cream store prior to moving to New York City, but now works as a perfume counter at Lord & Taylor in Manhattan during the day (she dances at some gentleman's clubs on the weekends for extra money).
Her employment is now in question due to her inability to improvise in sales pitches with her customers.

After meeting Jennifer Lyons and becoming Enchanted temporarily, Alice became fascinated with the world of the changelings. She begged Jennifer's motley-mate, Addy Peters, to help her find a way to become Enchanted permanently. Addy was glad to do so, and bestowed Alice with the Ritual of Parted Mists.

Alice and Jennifer met at Thackery's at a random party one night, and immediately hit it off. It took several months - almost a year - before Jennifer first Enchanted Alice, but Alice took to it like a duck to water. She never wants to be without the wonderment of the Dreaming, and loves Jennifer for showing her what was hiding just beneath the surface.
History
Alice de Vries was the girlfriend of Jennifer Lyons when Will and her first met. She was soon Enchanted by Jennifer and fell in love with the Changeling world and approached Will's wife, Adelaide Peters, to be permanently Enchanted, which Addy agreed to. She worked for several years with Will and Addy as an on-call babysitter for them, even quitting her job to be more present for the children, but became increasingly disenchanted (in the emotional sense) that she would always be set apart from the fae that she had become friends with. When she admitted that she was frustrated with the fact that she was unable to fully enter the Changeling world and that she felt that she had given up her life for something that she could never be a part of, Will was offended. He felt that she was accusing the motley of using her as nothing but a babysitter and looking down on her for being human. He is cordial, but very surface level with her now, and will no longer allow her to babysit Ocean Rose or Daniel Thackery. He would have nothing to do with her if she wasn't dating Jennifer. He has been honest with his feelings regarding Alice. Jennifer is family, and Will knows that to be mean to Alice will only drive Jennifer away so he tries to stay more out of the way when she's around so she isn't uncomfortable.
