Aiden Thomason

Aiden Thomason was born in the village of Birch Harbor on October 19, 2011 (678 MY) to Mark Thomason and Kendra Jones. He is best known as the son of Mark Thomason and as the first company spokesman of the newly formed Thomason Holdings. It was Aiden Thomason who first proposed the plan to restore the Mykentian Republic to face the then only suspected threat of the Enmalex. He would be reported dead in 692 following a malfunction of Galatian nanobots during their application.      

Early Life

As with Xavier, Aiden’s mother would soon leave but would periodically stay in touch with him throughout his life. He would be noted in his childhood for his confidence and easygoing manner. While Mark would describe Xavier as his “cuckoo bird,” he would call Aiden his “eagle.” Charming, popular, and athletic, Aiden easily made friends and could discuss virtually any topic. While he could be compassionate towards anyone, even the few that disliked him, he was particularly protective of his cousin Leon. When Leon was being intensely bullied for his awkwardness, Aiden would run from the middle school to the elementary so he could walk Leon home. As one of the few people that could actually get Leon to talk, Aiden was seen as the logical successor to Victor Thomason as the head of the family.      

Thomason Holdings

Upon graduating high school, Aiden immediately became the company spokesman of Thomason Holdings, presenting new products to the public and appearing in virtually all advertisements for the many subsidiaries. Everyone knew he was being groomed to be the new face of the brand, and his casual wit endeared him to the public.      

Anatos Mission

When Mark and Andrew returned from Anatos in 692 MY, they had sufficient evidence to suggest that there was indeed a threat to the civilizations of the galaxy, and had a number of proposals on how to prepare for the return of what they would later learn were the Enmalex. Since the population of Anatos could not travel due to the plague, the Thomasons would have to do all the field work. As they were discussing this, Aiden and Leon listened patiently without commenting on the numerous proposals for various alliances. Ultimately it would be Aiden that suggested that they were thinking too small, and that only a restored Mykentian Republic would have the resources and strength necessary to oppose the Enmalex. Leon would agree, and be instrumental in convincing the rest of the family.     The initial plan was for Aiden to be the ambassador at large for Anatos, while Andrew continued representing them with the other members of the Triad. Mark would remain on Anatos to coordinate and combine all the information. When the Republic was restored, it would have been Aiden who was the most well known by the various governments joining, and would therefore be proposed as the new Hilt. This plan would be agreed upon and the Thomasons would depart for Anatos, Leon remaining behind to build the infrastructure needed to construct a fleet.      

Nanotech Malfunction

Arriving at the Anatos Gateway Station, Xavier, Gavin, and Aiden were immediately quarantined until they could receive nanotreatment. Nobody was sure if the virus infecting Anatos could cross species to humans, but they did not want to take the chance. As the process was still experimental, there was a great risk involved in the treatment. Xavier and Gavin’s treatments proceeded normally, but Aiden’s malfunctioned, immediately becoming active and destroying everything that was not in their memory. As they had not completed the process of learning Aiden’s genetics, they would begin destroying every cell, using them to reproduce uncontrollably. This was a process that could not be stopped, as Anatos had deliberately not programmed the nanites with a way to be deactivated as a security precaution. It would be Mark who would initiate the safety of the quarantine chamber, flashing the room to over five thousand degrees to incinerate everything inside.      

Legacy

Mark Thomason would never fully recover from Aiden’s death, and could not speak of him without becoming emotional. After the Enmalex War, he would comment to Mykentos that during the entire war the thought constantly on his mind was “What would Aiden do?” While ultimately forgotten by everyone outside his immediate family, Aiden was the one who proposed the plan that ultimately restored the Mykentian Republic and provided the galaxy with the resources to defeat the Enmalex.       Click here for spoilers
