Kelsey Avery

Captained the ship Pāṇī Dā Bāza on a search and rescue mission of the Samudarī Viga that had been sent out the year before. The Samudarī was to sail to the north for 4 months and then return. Kelsey's brother and nephew were on board and when they did not return she recruited a crew of her own from the family members that were on that lost ship headed north. She first sailed to Efranelam in search of any news of her brother's ship, there was none. She continued to sail along the coast line and came to the half-orc settlement of Bumbahk Dhagh where they had no knowledge seeing any ships on their coast but there were stories of a furious storm that came through the previous year nearly wiping out their home.

Kelsey was able to get enough information to have an idea the direction of the storm winds and proceeded to sail in northerly direction. In spite of knowing that the winter seas were beginning to set in she pushed forward.

A storm arose that lasted for a full two weeks and cast the ship adrift after the main mast had been snapped and no spell of protection could last so long and the ship was pushed into the ice and as the storm continued it froze the ship in place. Realizing that they were now trapped in the ice it was decided try and stay aboard the ship until the summer months. Half of the crew and passengers died that first winter but Kelsey's resourcefulness and leadership helped those that made it through that winter survive and thrive, using the ships wood to make solid buildings and creative use of the few magic users to help find food and ways to survive the cold.

She died quietly in her sleep and was buried on the beach during the winter per her wishes so when the thaw came she may continue her search for her brother and nephew at sea.
