Town Square
The heart of Taiko Town pulses with life in its town square, where stone-paved streets converge beneath banners bearing the crests of early shops and merchant clans. Lanterns swing gently from high, wooden posts carved in the shapes of dragons and lotus blossoms, their glow casting warm hues over the busy square. Merchants shout from lacquered stalls lined with gems, incense, and smoked fish, while pilgrims in layered robes whisper prayers as they pass between shrine booths and spirit-touched fountains.
At the very center rises a statue of Lathander, the Morninglord, his expression serene and radiant. One arm is outstretched, offering aid to a figure beside him—a sailor of medium height, lean with weathered features, and a metal leg, detailed down to each rivet and joint. They stand together on a stone pedestal ringed in gold etching, upon which are engraved the names of the 45 sailors who first made landfall on Ruintale Isle, remembered as both explorers and founders. Flower offerings, charms, and folded paper prayers lie at the statue’s base, evidence of daily reverence from the people of Taiko.
