New Neighbors

General Summary

The council of Tetrodora received notice that the country of Kaldr Nodri wanted to speak, as they have recently taken up residence in the islands to the south. As the council convened, they sent Azim to go and speak with the posted leader, Jorn, who represented the nation. After taking some time to learn a bit about the culture in the city of Alost, Azim met with the giant Jarl, who invited the council to meet him at the newly established city of Mulafell. He was warned that the kingdom had become fearful of arcane magic due to some events that happened within their borders, and grand displays of magic would be seen unfavorably by his people. With that information in tow, Azim returned to Trader's Cusp.

Azim met back up with Asano, Milo and Roger, explaining what he learned, and informed them of the meeting place. The council acquired many gifts, and some of their own trade goods to bring as a show of good faith and prosperity when dealing with a more isolationist nation. Deciding to take Roger's ship, they kept it rather grounded instead of flight to keep from scaring the people. As they arrived, they were met and greeted by a small group of warriors, leading the party to Jorn's longhouse.

Inside, they found a feast prepared for them. Jorn greeted the party, and asked they feast and drink, as any negotiations should not be on empty stomachs. The party sat, as other giant members of their people joined them, regaling tales of great conquests and battles. Afterwards, Jorn gathered the group together, ready to discuss the reason he asked for them specifically.

Informing them he was given transactional authority by their queen, he asked for a trade deal. As their people are a sea fairing and raiding nation, he they often come across valuables that they do not need. In exchange for passing the goods through their nation, and turning their products into something more tangible for the nation, Jorn offered to keep Tetrodora lands and ships off limit, no raiders from the nation of Kaldr Nodri would take up arms against them. Jorn promised trading conditions that would favor Tetrodora as well, to sweeten the deal. Milo spoke up first, stating he appreciated the terms, but would like to also propose a trading of information. Jorn agreed, and sent for his sea maps.

Jorn spoke of islands yet unexplored by The Havens, south of the area and shared maps. In exchange, Milo provided maps of The Havens, Azim, Asano and Roger sharing their opinions on each of the countries leadership.

As talks wrapped up, the right hand of Jorn, a witch by the name of Thora, notified them of a impending attack. Jorn grabbed his axe, and the party readied themselves as demons teleported into the longhouse. With no hesitation, the party unleashed their attacks onto the creatures, felling them in quick form. Jorn apologized, and thanked them, grateful his new allies are powerful warriors. Milo suggested an embassy, and Jorn agreed, stating he would send builders to construct it in Taiko Town. He provided a gift to the party, in thanks for their new partnership.

The group returned back to their city, their ship full of new riches, and armed with new knowledge of the world.
