The Poor Man

Human god of the poor, work and home life.

The Poor Man

To labour in the field or mill,
Through daytime heat or nighttime chill
Can feel like pushing rocks uphill
But we know the Poor Man's drill.
Work is the Poor Man's concern
We never shirk, The Loyal Shall Earn
Each of the family in turn
To the Garden we will go.
The Poor Man's verse from The Song of the Eight.

Divine Domains

The Poor Man's alignment is True Neutral, and his portfolio includes the poor, work and home life. His cleric domains are Community, Earth, Family, Home, Loyalty, Resolve, Strength, Toil and his favoured weapon is the Spear.   As one of the Eight Human gods, his followers expect to go to the Garden Beyond the Stars when they die, although it is uncertain whether he will be there to meet them in the Garden. Since the Eight are less personal than the Survivor deities, it is unclear whether they reside in the Garden themselves or merely guide their followers to it without any form of personal interaction.

Patchwork Empire

Undergazette
"Jackdaw and Trink Tailfeather died in a mob hit when I was a tiny fletchling. Too young to remember them. From what I’ve found, they seemed not to be all that worth emulating. Gambled. Cheated. Got in debt with the wrong people. But that’s everyone down here. The guy that ordered the hit died three years later in a different mob hit, and then a few years after that the Candleman took over and every previous mobster on that side of town either fell in line or got hung from a walkway, fully encased in wax. I think I’ve gotten away from the spirit of the question here."
-- Krona Tailfeather.
"Minus the coffee addiction... I might like that."
