Attack on elf planet

It all started in 2218 when the planet was discovered by the Intergalactic Committee. The elves were further advanced than any other member state, so the elves didn't see any value in joining the IC, so they refused. So the IC let them be. It was a mistake.   Two years later the assault started. The reports stated it had been raiders, from another solar system, scouring the galaxy for technology they could use. In a matter of hours, they had decimated half of the planet's population. The remainder surrendered and every bit of scrap they possessed was taken from them. The raiders then left and were never seen nor heard from again.   Despite suspicions about the true nature of the raid running rampant among the survivors of this ordeal, they had to take the deal that the IC offered them, otherwise, they would be completely defenceless for at least several years. They joined up with the IC, and under their protection managed to rebuild their capital and are still trying to rebuild the society that was taken from them. Nowadays, all the elves can be found in the capital, as there's nothing left of the other cities that had been razed to the ground.   But as they rebuild, there are those among them that are out for vengeance.
