Atomic Baptism

Tenets of Faith

Atomic Baptism's tenets are very similar to modern Second Baptism's. They believe:
  • -That God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are three parts of the same personality
-That everyone and everything was created by God for a purpose -Everyone is inherently full of sin, and to enter Heaven, one must turn away from those sins. -That anyone that believes this wholeheartedly, and takes steps* to proclaim it, will be saved and sent to Heaven, and those who don't will be sent to Hell -*Steps taken include, but are not limited to, baptism, actively turning away from inherent sin, and sharing the religion with others -That all these tenets are written in the Bible, and can be interpreted by anyone, at any time.   Atomic Baptism has some additional tenets outside the original Second Baptist teachings: -That it was Jesus, and Jesus only, that should be capable of rising from the dead and walking among humanity post-mortem. Thus, Ghouls are inherently unholy and are not allowed within the practice. -The Great War, and all ills that became America afterwards, were caused by a lack of widespread faith in Jesus. Only this faith can heal America and the world. -The Great Bombs were allowed by God to remind humanity of His power, and to fear Him. -Any person that proclaims themselves a ruler is automatically unholy. -Any person that gives into any sin of the post-Atomic world is destined for Hell. They can be saved with baptism. *What these sins are is not fully agreed upon by all members. Most agree that this applies to virtually all chem usage, however. -Only the people that live according to all of these tenets are true Christians, and true Atomic Baptists. -These tenets are outlined in the document, "Notes on the Coming of the Bomb".

Worship

Anyone that can access and read the Bible and the document, "Notes on the Coming of the Bomb" can practice Atomic Baptism. However, due to widespread illiteracy and lack of access to these books, many seek out churches or travelling missionaries for assistance in worship. This has led to many arguments between practioners, since their understanding of the religion is heavily guided by who they have worshipped with, and their own biases.

Priesthood

While anyone can become an Atomic Priest, most are the descendants of the founding members of the religion. They tend to understand the Bible and Atomic Baptism the best. They are appointed after a multi-year apprenticeship, which includes rigorous study, pilgrimage, and missionary work.
