Moon-fed Growth

Manifestation

The moon triggers an unusual amount of growth when certain conditions are met. It is widely believed that plants are capable of undergoing moon-fed growth but none have been documented to as of yet. The Lakaenum's scholars are actively doing research into this possibility however. Thus far only animals have been documented undergoing moon-fed growth. The famous example being bark striders who gain a 20% increase in growth. For them it must be Night's Day and they must be in an area of high aether concentration. Once they are they become ensconced in a cocoon of foliage and flowers. While there are not many others currently documented as undergoing moon-fed growth, it is believed that the conditions are similar for others. There must be sufficient prolonged exposure to moonlight, and there must be a high concentration of aether. Once these are met, a plant-like cocoon is formed to support the burst of growth.

Localization

Few locations are known to have a sufficient concentration of aether to trigger this change. The Seloswyld has two locations that are reported to have enough aether. There are some skeptics of this as only elves are allowed to know how to get to these locations and so far only two elven scholars have confirmed the original elf scholar's claims. Despite alleged devotion to the pursuit of knowledge, none of these scholars are willing to share the location of these sacred glades. Very little information is shared overall about these glades but we know one is called the Meadow of the Moondrinker, and the other is called Sky's Mirror. Here with nothing to shield the bark striders from the moon's intense light during the Night's Day and a concentration of aether unlike anywhere else, they are able to undergo their metamorphosis into their final stages of growth. It has been suggested that these conditions could be artifically recreated but the ethics of this is questionable, not to mention the space necessary to contain a creature as large as a bark strider.
