Eladrin

Eladrin are a mysterious and elusive species, often referred to as the elves of the Feywild. They possess a unique connection to the Feywild, resonating with the emotions captured in its seasons. This affinity affects the eladrin's mood and appearance, influencing their personality and abilities.   An eladrin's season can change over time, though some remain in one season forever. Autumn eladrin are known for their peace and goodwill, sharing the summer's harvest with all. Winter eladrin are contemplative and may experience sorrow as the vibrant energy of the world slumbers. Spring eladrin are cheerful and celebratory, filled with merriment and hope as winter's sorrow passes. Summer eladrin are bold and aggressive, characterized by unfettered energy and a call to action.   The Eladrin arrived in the world with Inas and Ryheia more than 5000 years ago, but very few records of that time have survived. Much of their history has been lost, leaving many questions unanswered about their origins and their early experiences. After the Great Wars, the Eladrin disappeared from the mortal world. Some believe they were wiped out in the conflict, while others speculate that they retreated into the Feywilds, a realm beyond the reach of mortals.

Eladrin Traits

As a Eladrin, you have these special traits.   Darkvision
You have Darkvision with a range of 60 feet.   Elven Lineage
You are part of a lineage that grants you supernatural abilities. You gain the level 1 benefit of that lineage.   When you reach character levels 3 and 5, you learn a higher-level spell, as shown on the table. You always have that spell prepared. You can cast it once without a spell slot, and you regain the ability to cast it in that way when you finish a Long Rest. You can also cast the spell using any spell slots you have of the appropriate level.   Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma is your spellcasting ability for the spells you cast with this trait (choose the ability when you select the lineage).

You have proficiency in the Insight, Perception, or Survival skill.   Trance
You don’t need to sleep, and magic can’t put you to sleep. You can finish a Long Rest in 4 hours if you spend those hours in a trance like meditation, during which you retain consciousness.   Whenever you finish this trance, you can change your season
