Sunken sea
The sunken sea is a massive sea to the west of the common lands of elfream, the true extent of which is unknown but is known to be many times larger than the surface of the earth. The depth of this sea varies but at its deepest goes far beyond that of any sea on earth. Many areas within the sunken sea are classified as their own smaller seas, each having wildly different conditions.
A huge variety of creatures call this area home and in such a large space large creatures are able to lurk within the depths.
