Giant crane

A species of crane bird that stands up to 4 meters tall. Most of this height is due to their long thin legs that they use to wade through water disturbing the waters as little as possible as they hunt for fish with their long thin beak.   Giant cranes are large enough for people to ride on, but the added weight makes it impossible for them to fly for more than a few meters. As such they are often domesticated and used as mounts to cross marshy areas as they can effortlessly pass over this kind of environment.
