An accidental city founded by Salem Asandromere and the handful of people who tried to help him stop Farro Trevian from opening the portals of the Tahl'Maran. After the founding of the Guild of Nyn, the crew understood they'd need more than one defensive group. So sprang forth both the Order of the Tahl'Maran and the Knights of the Nyn. The former was chartered under the understanding that Orr could be threatened by any faction from any world tied to the Nexus of Nyn. They also realized that guild members exploring new worlds would require protection details.

From this, Rim City sprang up in a crescent shape around the rim of the sinkhole where the Tahl'Maran is located, populated mostly by the families of those recruited for all three ventures. Eventually, officials and visitors added to the bustling city.
