Fiefdom

House Sondeheim were the rulers of the sandy, hostile world of Furnace. They were briefly forced into exile by the fall of the Terran Empire and the foundation of the St Lawrence Compact.   Following Lord Kentan II retaking the planet in a bloodless coup, House Sondeheim regained their place as liege Lords of the planet.   In 2565 after 15 years of work, Lord Elbar II successfully terraformed the planet, turning it from a dry and arid desert planet to a wet and humid planet with a Mediterranean climate. He renamed the planet to Tyr following this transformation.

Business Ventures

House Sondeheim were investors in LGD Gamma and founded major banking firm Amun-Ra Banking Incorporated. In 2570 ARBI was merged with Creed Financial to form ARC Financial, the largest financial firm in Terran space.   In 2565 they founded a small food production company Tyr Foods to provide a sustainable produce production on a newly terraformed Tyr.   In 2595 House Sondeheim leveraged a large loan and their own assets to purchase a 40% stake in AKI.

Political Ideology

House Sondeheim were of a conservative political ideology during the time of the Empire. After the fall of the Empire, the Sondeheims adopted a more moderate political ideology, with members of their family serving in elected office as members of several different political parties.   In 2550, Lord Elbar Sondeheim founded the Tyr First party, a local party which focused on Tyr. A strong libertarian party, with centre right social views, the party affiliated with Vishnu Elpis from 2550 to 2570. Feeling that Vishnu Elpis wasn't right wing enough, Tyr First affiliated with the Isolationist Party until 2585.   In 2590, following the elections, Lady Victoria Krane-Sondeheim merged Tyr First into Onyx.
