Kainai
Structure
Kainai is a nation that reveres age and elders. Every settlement, from Nishikiri City to the smallest hamlet, is run by the oldest person or people. Those elders are always referred to as "Elder" regardless of the speaker's personal relationship to the elder.
Culture
Family—both that which you are born into and that which you choose—is the most important unit of Kainesian society. It is believed that a person without a family is not a whole person.
Foreign Relations
Kainai is ideologically opposed to Ummiati Kinngait, but generally they avoid one another politically.
Historically, Kainai has a strong bond with Tiantang for trade, education, and travel. The nations are on very good terms.
One of the nations whose navy is pledge to protect the Kindred Isles, Kainai is formally on good terms with the region. Kainese people are generally wary of the lack of cultural congruity between the varying islands, however.
Education
Kainai is most well-known for their standardized education system. After elders, teachers are the most venerated group in the nation. Kainai boasts more universities of a wider variety of subjects teaching a more diverse demographic than any other country or region in the world.
In addition to university education, all children are educated between the ages of 4 and 13; the Venerated Assembly spends the majority of their time managing the curriculum and staff of the entire country.
The Kainese crest is a cherry tree whose roots envelop a mountain.
