General Summary

Session BEGINS around 7am after LONG REST on Lucom 21st, in the Gardens of Atonement as the world is ending.
  • Mak'Ti is still in the flask, he will not have turned into wereraven because of the flask, but he is still in suspended animation
  • BORD is catatonic speaking to the GODS and flashing back to his origins as the actual PRISON of the Great Old One, to be detailed in Session 101
  • Mark and Narinn will be catatonic (stupified) for session 101

FLASHES OF IMAGERY
  • Thousands of concerts across Oroccid before he ever came into contact with the Cult Members
  • Bord visiting his home in The Elemental Plane of Air, completely empty, singing alone in front of a large fire in the only chair in the living room, eyes closed, bags of Koce and other drugs around him. Snowflakes fell from a cloudless sky, and suddenly Bord was surrounded by "family," and all manner of furniture for them to sit in. Each Aarakocra bore a striking, familial resemblence to him despite their various ages, though none had his striking black feathers. Bord's eyes grew unfocused, then went wide, as he began to call out family member names, "Plank, Twiggie, Panell, Timbha!" with jovial mirth, his eyes now black and golden rimmed, his voice almost a chant, like he was casting a spell.
A lifetime of memories.
  • Bord playing in the band at the Coronation of King Alphanis in Obreriault 100 Years ago, still looking exactly the same as now, minus the fashion changes of his clothing.
Perhaps more than a lifetime.
  • Bord smacking a demon in the face with a lute while a Tortle Monk fights off a horde of enemies (mostly demons) protecting a mage performing a ritual in front of a portal
  • Bord fleeing Goblins in Bronzehook with a flagon of Ale in hand, clearly having stolen from them as smoke can be seen rising from a Brewery in the background
  • Bord fighting undead in the fields of Chalinos over 100 years alongside the citizens of the countryside, including a man and his Dragonborn lover.
Unnaturally long.
  • Bord handing a a pair of wooden spoons to a 12 year old Dragonborn male struggling to play a flute, who instantly lights up and begins banging out a song on them.
  • A black feathered Aarakocra wearing ancient leathers welcoming legions of Warforged onto the shores of Domunz thousands of years ago playing a banjo and crooning a familiar tune
  • A shadowy, almost feral, avian humanoid hiding up a tree watching a boat of Eberronian refugees land on the island of Obreriault, the well-meaning humans calling him down and offering him food, one of them handing him a drum to play with
  • A monstrous shadow, its contorted face ending in dozens of tentacles, writhing in rage and agony as its form morphs and contorts down in size to become an Aarokocra on the shores of Lake Urda, as a few lowly Sahuagin watch from the water, ducking below the waves once the transformation is complete.

  • The RITUAL within the SPEE HQ, Bord's clone being crafted, Alphanis pulling Bord's soul into the clone, leaving Cthulhu free in the vessel.
  • Bord's original, mangled body, complete with twisted tentacles, disjointed jaw, new monstrous size and black orbs for eyes, lies lifeless in the woods, the torso completely ripped and split down the middle as the Great Old One clawed its way out of the now weakened physical vessel. Otherworldy, monstrous shriekly and sucking can be heard in the distance.

THE GARDENS OF ATONEMENT

  • Bord returns
  • Star Spawn (+ Shoggoth) attack Gardens)
A distant, rhythmic crashing breaks the forest’s stillness—like a storm rolling on the ground itself. Birds scatter in panicked bursts from the treetops, their cries swallowed by the deepening rumble. Then, the trees ahead start to buckle, toppling outward as something vast pushes through the wood.
From the fog-covered clearing beyond, a heaving mass of shadow and motion emerges. Its shape is impossible to hold in your gaze—constantly folding in on itself, slick and wet, with brief flashes of eyes or gaping mouths that vanish just as quickly. Each impact of its bulk sends a shudder through the soil, rattling your teeth and filling the air with the scent of rot and ozone.
Before you can make sense of the thing’s form, a swarm of smaller horrors slithers and bounds into view around it—dozens upon dozens of malformed shapes with gleaming skin and vacant smiles. Their gibbering voices weave together into a psychic hum that crawls across your mind.
As the towering form lurches closer, the swarm breaks into a full charge, shrieking in chaotic harmony. The forest no longer hides what hunts within it. Something ancient, and impossibly wrong, is coming.
  • As they wake up, Gorrazar frees Mak'Ti from the Iron Flask, and they catch him up on what has happened
  • Tunlo and the few remaining Acolytes of Keyrth (only 3 left) offer to Plant Walk them away to Oroccid, but the Black Tear insist on staying to fight Cthulord
  • As they see the enemies approach, the Black Tear FLEE (the AoK also flee), with Mak'Ti teleporting them to the Jonin Nara museum in New Shi

NEW SHI

  • They arrive at in the basement of the museum, where Mak'Ti's magic causes the mirrors to go CRAZY due to Far Realm WILD MAGIC, and Da'ath shatters all the mirrors
  • They hunt for supplies and find Hobgoblins have taken over the house and are training in the basement, Mak'Ti sends for ADWIN
  • Da'ath is assaulted by NYMMARTH in her DWARVEN form outside the hous, where she yells at him for setting CTHULHU free and ending the world, and potentially the multiverse, demanding to know what the plan is now
  • The group has a long think of what to do, dismissing the plan of just running headlong into battle WITHOUT A CLUE/PLAN against a GOD who can clearly wipe the floor with them
  • Mak'Ti and the group do some research, read the mind of Keyrth in his new imprisoned form, and glean some knowledge Keyrth had of the DRACONIC PROPHECY, learning Cthulhu can only be trapped in a VESSEL crafted by the Gods
  • With the original DARK VESSEL of BORD destroyed (a Vessel includes BODY, MIND and SPIRIT), they need to find the LIGHT VESSEL
  • They EVENTUALLY remember all the foreshadowing, metaphor, visions, and symbols hinting the MAK'TI is the Champion of Light, the new Vessel the Gods have been crafting, and that he alone can contain Cthulhu, but will need to sacrifice himself to be that prison
  • The Prophecy also hints that if Mak'Ti fails to contain Cthulhu while offering up his vessel to him, he will make Cthulhu infinitely more powerful and doom the multiverse, as currently Cthulhu needs BORD as it is missing a piece of itself that it needs to become the ultimate form of evil/madness/power it once was
  • They task ADWIN and the Hobgoblins with holding the LINE at New Shi against the encroaching, reality breaking mesh of the Far Realm incursion (and the Star Spawn), knowing the Black Tear will have to face the Great Old One
  • Da'ath gives HOBGOBLINS 12 Javelins of his own make to use in their fight (one of which is STOLEN/ TAKEN by Gorrazar)
  • They tell the citizens of New Shi to FLEE
  • Bord SUMMONS Dronzroh to New SHI to help with a RITUAL he and MAK'TI must do with the group to BIND and TRAP Cthulhu within the new prison of Mak'Ti
  • Dronroh arrives weaponless and in a hurry, and will only be able to perform the ritual, and spends much time in the background learning about the ritual MAK'TI did to save BORD when the Bard had been turned to stone by the Medusa's, the group learning that particular ritual and the sacrifices inherant to it are what will ultimately be needed to trap and bind the Great Old One in Mak'Ti.
  • Da'ath does a form of SCRY spell using his GLAIVE to find Cthulu and finds him flying to LAKE URDA, but the Great Old One reversaes the spell and knows their location now as well, the power of his gaze CRACKING, but thankfully not breaking, the GLAIZE (it can never be used for a spell like this again)
  • During this ritual, Bord tries to perform on his drum and discovers he is lacking some of his old confidence/talent (rolls with DISADVANTAGE on Performance checks now that he no longer has Cthulhu at his back)
  • While searching the nearby shops for useful items, they only find a handful of regular POTIONS OF HEALING, but do find BRACERS OF CELERITY which they keep (as well as another BAG OF ENDLESS RATS)
Session ENDS around 1pm on Lucom 21st in NEW SHI, as they prepare to head out to LAKE URDA, hoping Nariinn and Mark become unstupified in time for the coming fight and ritual.

  • WASTELANDS - Acolytes of Keyrth Battling X-Cult in Wastelands - Reports of Necromancy and Undead roaming the nearby lands, as well as Treants being spotted throughout the once dead lands (TIBAC THE TORTLE one of the leader's speaks directly with Keyrth, who he calls for aid)
  • CAMBREY VALLEY and the Surrounding MOUNTAINS Shrouded in Darkness - all the vampires dead/ perished, dissolved after BLACK TEAR killed Khonaheeto, valley back to normal now
  • ELDATHIR - currently under siege by Forces of Malar after ILLUSORY SHIELD went down - repelled forces of Malar, but still under blockade

  • BRIGHTSHELL HARBOR - Moderately okay after the Genasi War, but full of REFUGEES (think Ba Sing Se) and all troops working to repel UNDEAD from Wastelands being sent in by X-CULT
  • ETERNAL CURRENT MONASTERY - a ruin currently, all having FLED to Brightshell harbor
  • GIMLOTH Currently Under MARTIAL LAW under control by Fire Giants and Other Massive Creatures from Elemental Plane of FIRE, the few that remain of the dwarves are shoring up defenses against the undead, the enemy Garrison offering little help

JUDAI'ARUK'S NEW PLAN

COMPLETED PARTS

  • JUDAI'ARUK Taking Control of the Cabal of Cthulhu
  • T'nin defects to Judai'aruk, having regained his memories, bringing the Vedalken the bottle of LUKAS HELVIIREN, who T'nin overheard speaking about his master, the Djinn Genie Keth. They torture Lukas and get the location of Keth, and they head to EXPA to demand wishes from her, bringing the might of the Cabal alongside them.
  • Next he finds the mortat remains of DREW SCROLL, intent on raising him from the dead using the ROD OF RESURRECTION stolen by the X-CULTISTS from the Cathedral to Boldrei in BOLUDO, so he can cast the MASS RAISE DEAD spell he created over 100 years ago
  • Next, he sets RENARD to find Eldath and STEAL THE CARAFE, fulfilling the VISION
  • At first Judai'aruk wishes for Cthulu to be awoken and freed, but not even Keth has that power. Next, he wishes for all the recombined ORRERY of the WANDERER, which she reluctantly grants him, massively weakening herself in order to save LUKAS's life. The half drow escapes, but not before he sees Judai'aruk kill Keth in her weakened state, having used so much power to gather and reconstitute the remaining pieces of the Orerry.
  • Stole the KRAKEN SKULL in front of the YAW SHIP
  • Next he has GAULDENAL head to GIMLOTH to kidnap Myrra (Speer member for the ritual), now has both SAPHIELLE and Myrra for the ritual, may use one of them as bargaining chip
  • Next, he sends the ABISHAI to Magiault to Steal the POWER STONE (slowed by lack of Mak'Ti's eye) - if Group gets it, he'll blackmail them with BORD's FATHER/ family - they STEAL other 2 STONES to see if they will work, Judai'aruk after two weeks is confident he has worked out a variation of the ritual using these stones
  • Without Bord or his child, Judai'aruk confident he can either blackmail Bord with his kidnapped family members who he just returned from the Elemental Plane of Air with, or just sacrifice Bord's father, ALSO a Bard
  • Judai'aruk enhancing missing pieces of ritual components with Shards of Living Gate T'nin STOLE from Da'ath at the Gimloth house
  • He has given the signal for "The trap" to keep Forces of Terus, including SPEER, at bay
  • Went to Obreriault to collect the parasite from the Mind Flayers, the last step needed for his ritual to become an ELDRITCH LITCH to perform the ceremony Eldritch-lich - there until LUCOM 20th (is now an ELDRITCH LICH)

STILL TO DO

  • After the ritual, Judai'aruk went to LAKE URDA for THE AWAKENING, feeling confident he will finally be ready, and having already summoned hordes of warriors there to protect it already, including the Sahuagin - Arrives LUCOM 21st, begins/tries ritual on LUCOM 22nd
  • T'NIN can decide during the battle/ritual whether to help his old allies or not
  • JUDAI'ARUK does not realize it is ALL A HOAX to keep people distracted so the GREAT OLD ONE can work on warping the MIND of BORD - LUCOM 23rd, realizes ritual is a HOAX, and is commanded by CTHULHU, who now owns him (much to Judai'aruk's subconscious dismay) to kill Bord. (hunt is on from this point onward)

THE TRAP TO KEEP FORCES OF TERUS AT BAY

  • Mind Flayers invade DOMUNZ, with World Brain touching down on Obreriault with main assault force (keep Magiault, Miraxilim and Obreriault at bay)
  • Aboleth forces invades the Lancu Sea, attacking the smaller islands while Main Force attacks Chalinos
  • Tiamat sends dragons daily to harass Tufenes from Magia, including using the portal to Abyss near CHALINOS to attack Tufunes (keep Chalinos and Thindriline at bay)
  • Malar's Hunters attack Eldath once more joined by hired help from Dark Ember Monastery
  • Undead Armies rise up in the WASTELANDS, heading for populace centers already decimated by SECOND ELEMENTAL WARS
  • Eldritch Horrors reveal themselves from their gathering points in the Nalied Desert, striking at Llegosert, Palm Point, and Nomadic Tribes
