Order of the Burning Garden - Cult

C3 History

  • The Cult sprung up once more after it became known Messi helped the Death Joints defeat Ryker McAult and King Clain, and the followers that remained faithful began to spread the word once more, believing that Messi saved Domunz once again.
  • Stories began to grow about Messi's participation in C2 Campaign, with Cult Members calling it the "New Testament"
  • Messi and Nariel made efforts to shut down the reforming cult, but his followers either saw it as the man being too humble, or accused him of being another imposter trying to destroy the Burning Garden in much the same way the Cambion did
  • Messi appealed to the leaders of Magiault and Obreriault and, seeing the danger, both King ALphanis and the Concillium of Mages outlawed the Order of the Burning Hand from Domunz, naming them a flawed and dangerous cult
  • Messi eventually died, and the Cult Mourned, looking for new hope on the Horizon while still spreading the message of their Messi-ah
  • The Order lost many members, but true believers held on, becoming much more secretive, and spreading the word of Messi past Domunz to Oroccid, where they could freely practice their religion without persecution
  • Eventually were approached by the Cult of Xavamir - aka X-Cult and the Cult of Lolth , as they had all been exiled from Domunz and could work together.
  • Lord Till and the Burning Garden were promised a return of Messi, using the necromany of the X-Cult to get it done
  • Now it is all one cult, but they remain "Separate" in name only to throw off their enemies.
  • Mainly in the Plateaus of Oroccid (Ladvez)

GARB

  • Wear dark green, almost BLACK robes with a Burnish Radish Symbol on the back
  • Some HIGHER UPS wear PISTOLS very similar to BORD AGATTA's

PISTOLS (Exandrian) and New Ensalada

  • While scouting for a new HQ location in Oroccid, Lord Till and his scouts found a forested area west of Lake Geminas they thought might be suitable, but asked for a sign from Lord Messi that this was to be their new home. Within the hour, they found crates of strange weapons, and when the triggers were pulled, explosive metal tubes came out that could pierce even armor
  • They established New Ensalada that day, having no idea the crates had fallen from an alien ship (The Flayer's Bane ) that crashed in the Nalied Desert
  • Lord Till distributed most of the pistols to his top men, sold a few on the black market to make some funds, and then traveled to Gimloth and made a deal with a blacksmith there named Ingvia Draeldom (Dwarf F), giving her one of the pistols is she could figure out how to make more, and make more bullets, a task she readily accepted
  • He did not tell her of his association with the Cult, and is ok with her making money from the Pistol designs and bullet sales, as she is giving him supplies of both for free in exchange
  • Lord Till (who in this exchange goes by TILLBERT) has Brother Leek (Male Goliath) meet Ingvia's courier in the forest near New Ensalada to pick up the crate
C2 History:
  • Based in Hidden Commune in The Great Nilos Wood in Tufenes called "Ensalada"
  • Found in many ports and cities handing out fliers inviting people to join them at commune while wearing garb.
  • Cult that Mestizo 'Messi' Trolfukkai (from Campaign 1) inadvertently built around himself following the events of the defeat of Drew Scroll. Nowadays it is a true cult awaiting the returning of Messi, not allowing anyone who visits the chance to leave using peer pressure, using force if they have peered "Behind the curtain" and seen the final letter of Messi proclaiming he is not a god and this was all a mistake.
  • They wear Kale Green robes, Straw Hat, sandals, hemp belts, and wield sickles. (often wearing Orc tusks)

Here's what characters were told by a cult member:

"After the great Mestizo Trofukkai and his allies finished gathering their allies to fight Drew Scroll and his army of the undead, they fought the evil Mayor in final combat in his throne room. And while his allies fell one-by-one, Messi stood strong, dodging attacks from the massive stone wolf, hurling hell-hounds aside by conjuring dust-devils, only slowing to ensure his closest friends and allies, the members of his band "Messi and the Loving Spoonfuls" were not permanently. Finally, he stood alone before Scroll, and with all of his strength, power and majesty, the great Messi used his signature move, and hurled his flaming produce at the great evil of our time. Drew Scroll fell, the evil was defeated, and our hero was victorious. For years he traveled the lands spreading the divine word, amassing more and more followers, myself among them. We started calling him our new god, those from Chalinos touted him as the divine savior, and they were right. We chanted his name, we prayed to him day and night, love him all the more for his meekness, telling us he was no god. His humbleness, claiming he did not actually did it all himself. But we knew he was simply showing us how not to be prideful. And then, one day he disappeared. Messi was Melike's chosen, and even now we know he sits beside her on the ethereal plane, a new god who proved himself in a divine war. And so we continue to worship him."

  • Nightly ritual is to set fire to massive bonfire of produce, and then for dinner eat the charred remains, which they pound into a slush they call "mush" and eat in the dining hall "This is where we always eat our mush"
Dinner Prayer:
Lettuce pray. As we gather together in the mush-room, Squashing all feelings of resentment. We know our time will turnip (up). We will beet any challenge, teach people to love and chili (chill), and live in a world of peas.(peace) By the will of our RADdish Savior, our Founder, our best spud, Mestizo Trolfukkai. Pumpkin (en).
POST-MESSI:
  • After MESSI and NARIEL left, Commune was bereft until "Messi" returned, albeit with a few changes. He more gladly accepted his role as savior, and even offered powers to those initial followers who stayed with him, the 5 HIGH PRIESTS. Eventually he led them down the path to making sacrifices in his name, using his ability of "FIENDISH CHARM" to force them to accept his words and actions. Over time, their wills broke down and they became fully his puppets (if freed, they will be very confused, and still believe in him).
  • In actuality the Commune was beset by a Cambion named "Gu'Sukav" who worships the non-Domunz Death god of BHAAL, who demands sacrifices, and it is the perfect situation for Gu'Sukav, especially since Messi never returned, and his lore and legend made for a perfect hidden sect of followers.
Death Joints Arc:
  • Eventually Death Joints find cult in order to save a farmer's son from their clutches
  • Death Joints learn it is not Messi and remove Gu'Sukav after a harrowing adventure fighting their way through the cult
  • Cult disbands, realizing it was not Messi
  • Some remain hopeful for Messi's return someday
