Has no memory of where he's from. Was raised by a group of marauders (bandits...pirates...etc), he was mostly a servant, but they trained him to be a thief to help them (and he learned to fight a bit along the way). The raiders...well they forgot where they took him from. He ran away as a young boy and lived - amongst other places - on the streets; among a religious reptilian people where he mostly smoked (insert hash like substance...) and dropped (insert LSD like substance, which fried his brain; a pack of (insert bear like creature in a brothel (for a long time), surviving the all along the way by collecting bounties.
BACKSTORY (that Mark knows about)
Mark has no memory of where he's from. For most of his childhood he was raised by a group of pirates led by a powerful female Tiefling named Neraban the Beheader on her ship, the Guillotine. He was mostly her servant, but she and her crew trained him to be a thief to help them during their heists (and he learned to fight a bit along the way). Spent most of his time with them among the islands of the Lancu Sea in Domunz, especially the pirate island of Bronzehook. As for where the pirates found him... they forgot where they took him from. He ran away as a young teenager and lived - amongst other places - on the streets; among the religious reptilian Lizardfolk near the altar at Bahamut's Perch deep in the Nalied Forest, where he mostly smoked Elven Pipeweed and Moon Sugar (Skooma) which fried his brain. At one point he lived with a pack of owlbears; then in the TREASURED BOXES brothel in Chalinos (for a long time) where the human Madame NAI TWISDOEH cared for him and helped wean him somewhat off the drugs, surviving all along the way by collecting bounties. Till one day he set off on his own, curbing his appetite for drugs by imbibing a lot of alcohol, making his way to the lands of Oroccid which teemed with adventure and, from what he heard, many opportunities for a bounty hunter who knew what he was doing.HIDDEN BACKSTORY
- Around 35 years ago, Wanesh Brycos (Wanesh Brycos )had a secret child with a female mage on the Guillotine (around the time he was in contact with Neraban for the Potion of Longevity Project)
- Heard that she was pregnant and sired him a son, but wanted nothing of the child, he was too busy and figured it would just be a distraction, a "Pirate child"
- Neraban and crew kept the child, especially after the mother died in childbirth, and decided to never tell Mark about his embarrassment of a father, though he looked A LOT like Wanesh
- Gave him the name "Bastardson" because they thought it was funny
