Tuatha
Tuatha are the most widely travelled of Dwarves, and many individuals go wandering across the planet in search of adventure and interesting stories. Most intend to return, but sometimes they are waylaid by unexpected events. Their culture is widely renowned for both its artisan skills and lyrical prowess, and many make a living as travelling bards, singing songs and reciting or inventing poetry to suit any situation, earning hospitality from any they encounter, even the highest of lords or kings.
A subgroup of Dwarves whose principality is Tuatha'Nell. Descended from Nain and the probable ancestors of Humans, they are one of the most gregarious Dwarven groups, happy to associate with their neighbors, and as such are often hired as emissaries to the churlish Dwergar. They are in a sense the diplomatic heart of Dwarfdom, but also have an independent culture and proudly cultivated lands, each of which they will fiercely defend against any incursion.
If not for their six-fingered hands, the Tuatha could easily be mistaken for Humans, albeit ones with luxurious beards among both men and women. They appreciate beauty and the finer things in life, happy to try new experiences and recreate them with a Dwarven twist. One of the main products of their appreciation is an industry of fine artworks which are their main exports. While the Dweregar excel in extracting and refining materials of surpassing quality, the Tuatha are unmatched in transforming these into objects of beauty, if not also wonder and mystery. They are also renowned for their poetry and literature.
Tuatha practice mining to the minimal extent, preferring to leave nature as intact as possible while still seeking treasures underground. Their mines are small and efficient, and are not major sources of housing; instead, they use the extracted stone from their mines to build abodes that are partially above ground and partially below, giving them excellent temperature control and access to the mines without having to live inside them.
Transformation: Sensor
The Tuatha are sensitive by Dwarven standards, and this goes for their innate sense of surrounding stone as well. As they age and hone this ability, some become adept at telling the different types of rock apart by touch alone, hunting the veins of precious materials among the vast conglomerates of dross. These are known as Sensors, and they inevitably hold high status as they lead the mining expeditions of their kind, unerringly leading their companies to riches.Naming Traditions

Culture
Major language groups and dialects
The predominant language of Tuatha'nell is Teanga Tuatha, believed to be based on the Fairy language, Teanga Sidhe, with significant influence from the other Dwarven languages, though no one has yet established the historical link between them. Most Tuatha speak several Dwarven languages, and many also speak Elvish or one of the Human languages.
Art & Architecture
Tuatha build their major cities out of quarries: they extract all stone to a depth of several meters, selling or using that which has particular value, and using the rest to construct houses and other structures atop the gap they have made, resulting in buildings that extend both above and below the ground level. Doing so aids in temperature regulation, making their habitations more comfortable throughout the year.
New buildings are often extended from existing walls, creating complexes of interconnected buildings, often with few or no streets between them; as such, it's often impossible to reach the interior portions of a Tuatha city without going through several houses. For this reason, habitations are usually concentrated near the center, with trade and government buildings around the outside of the city.
Ideals
Beauty Ideals
Tuatha believe in simplicity in beauty, and in accenting one attribute rather than garnishing a person or item with elaborate decorations. One habit they favor is of weaving their hair in complex styles, and wear garments of simple materials and designs, but embroidered with rows of complex patterns or dyed in interweaving colors. One typically wears only a few pieces of jewelry, usually of gold or silver, around the neck or arms, and seem to favor neck rings overall.
Gender Ideals
Of all the Dwarven cultures, the Tuatha have the least obvious gender distinction. While Dwarf genders can be difficult to tell apart in any case, among the Tuatha the styles and aesthetic preferences that are considered masculine or feminine seem very arbitrary to outsiders, and can take much practice to learn. As well, there are many aesthetics that are unisex, and many individuals who employ these entirely, not presenting visibly as either male or female.
Relationship Ideals
Tuatha have simple rules regarding relationships, and seldom make formal ceremonies around them. They are also open to polyamory, and many couples in their society are never officially married.
Major organizations
As with most Dwarves, the Tuatha primarily dwell in the kingdom founded by their own group, in this case Tuatha'Nell. They can also be found throughout the Dwarven and Elvish worlds, where they most often work as ambassadors or tradesmen, facilitating agreements between various groups in the region. Many also live in the Northern Continent serving similar roles, where they generally pass for Humans.
