House Belvento
House Belvento is a merchant dynasty of the city of Mevania, an ambitious but comparatively young rival to the Delissar Mercantile Company. Known for their opportunism, Belvento thrives not by tradition or deep coffers but by shrewd manipulation of markets, contracts, and rumour. They are quick to seize upon the misfortunes of others and equally quick to abandon alliances when profit wanes.
History
Founded: Circa 180s IE when several families of middling fortune banded together to break into long-haul caravan and shipping trade.
Rise: By the 190s IE, Belvento had gained footholds in caravan toll contracts across the Velvet Coast, often purchasing influence from minor guilds. They turned on their coalition of other families driving them out of business.
Present (202 IE): With the crisis in Solova, Belvento has positioned itself to profit from the troubles of rival houses, especially Delissar.
