Personal history

Born into the prestigious House Isilda of The Siar Conclave, she was remembered for her service as a field healer and illusionist during the Human Rebellion. Unlike many of her cautious kin, she rode south to support the levies of the Kingdom of Lorintha, believing her magic could preserve lives on the battlefield. Trained in restorative magic and battlefield illusion, she was tasked with tending to the wounded and maintaining morale. Accounts describe her as a figure of dignity and compassion. Accounts from the war note her great efforts to heal both Elven soldiers and, controversially, captured Human slaves.   At Chegorsk Forest, Eryndis tended the wounded and cloaked retreating Elven units in shimmering illusions. When the Lorinthan line was shattered, she was captured alive by Alerian rebels.   Her ultimate fate remains disputed. Lorinthan records insist she was executed by the rebels as an act of cruelty, while some human sources claim she defected, lending her healing arts to Alerio’s cause in defiance of her kin.   Within the Siar Conclave, the official account of Eryndis Isilda’s fate maintains that she was executed in captivity, her death serving as proof of the cruelty of the Alerian rebels. Any suggestion of defection is rejected outright, condemned as Human falsehoods intended to blacken her name and stain the honour of her House. For House Isilda, devout in their adherence to Elven Creationism and known for their disdain towards Humanity, such rumours are considered intolerable. To acknowledge even the possibility of truth would be to admit to a betrayal of both doctrine and bloodline. Thus her memory is preserved in the annals of House Isilda as a martyr who fell victim to her own compassion.

Education

Born into the scholarly traditions of House Isilda, Eryndis received a rigorous education within the Siar Conclave. From early childhood she was placed under the tutelage of a House-appointed magister, specialising first in the restorative arts and later in illusion. Her training followed the orthodox model of the Conclave, combining theory with long apprenticeships, with particular emphasis on the integration of medicine, herb-lore, and arcane healing techniques. During her Century of Cultivation she chose to depart the Conclave to serve with the levies of Lorintha, placing her education in service to the war effort during the Human Rebellion.

Morality & Philosophy

Eryndis Isilda’s writings and recorded words reflect a worldview at odds with the harsher orthodoxy of her House. While House Isilda placed great emphasis on Elven supremacy, Creationist orthodoxy, and suspicion of Humanity, Eryndis demonstrated a more universalist ethic. She believed that the gift of magic was not solely a tool of dominion but a duty of preservation, and she repeatedly argued that healing ought not be constrained by politics or bloodline.   This philosophy earned her quiet rebuke within the Conclave, where compassion for Humans was seen as dangerously heterodox, if not outright heretical. Yet contemporaries described her as possessing a moral clarity that transcended such divisions, willing to endure suspicion and censure in pursuit of what she believed to be a higher truth. To her, mercy was strength, not weakness, and dignity was measured not in lineage but in the act of service to others.

Representation & Legacy

Songs sung in Novayan taverns describe her cradling a dying rebel beneath the ash trees, whispering prayers of comfort in the tongue of Elves. Others tell of her vanishing into the smoke of the forest, carried away by spirits rather than submitting to rebel chains. In the Velvet Coast, theatre troupes embellish her tale with themes of love and betrayal, portraying her as a noblewoman torn between loyalty to her blood and sympathy for the oppressed.
