Deep Ones
Trapped semi-immortals
"We live only by the grace of the Green. Why tempt it?"Substrata of Elven colonists who have managed to survive the deadly inner reaches of the Carsil Forest and reached the relative safety of its hidden Mountain range. Their kind has renounced any hope of escaping their new surroundings and maintain few cultural aspects of their more active cousins.

Culture
Major language groups and dialects
They still share the same language and dress codes and outer groups of Elven Carsilese. Their long lifespans maintains the language as is throughout the generations.
Culture and cultural heritage
Like all elven folks, the Deep Ones age slowly. They take their time to master their crafts and find ways to occupy themselves. The restraint on their movement and the dangerosity of escaping the valleys and heights into the killing forest has created an atmosphere of wilful distraction. Most Deep Ones are craftsmen, poets, artists or socialites who avoid any offensive performance. Maintaining the status quo is taught to children and maintained through the lengthy generations, in great opposition to the struggles of their brethren outside the Carsil's Core.
Shared customary codes and values
The Deep Ones are survivalists and artisans who have lost their warrior drive and need for expansion or exploration. To be a Deep One is to accept your fate. The highest valued member of this culture are the Rememberers, ancient individuals who lived through the First Sending, counted on the fingers of one hand.
Common Taboos
To leave the confines of certain valleys or past certain points of the mountains into the Core is forbidden to all but the more accomplished warriors, and their numbers are few and far between. Ignorance and supposition amplifies the taboo with each passing moons.
