Khan Rangatir'vidyhe

Khan and his twin brother Tolya were born in Midland Grove in Y1036 to a family of foresters. They were sent to live with a patrol of the Torch of Tygrar after the destructive Prozhg'atua of Y1045. Khan took great interest in both divination and martial arts, and became a bankhur rider. (Unusually, the name of his bankhur seems to be lost to history.) At his Nazvanhi, he took the name Khan Vohoniti, referencing his devotion to Promethean mysticism.   Khan and Tolya spent a short period as Veldtpatrollem for the Torch, before Khan returned to the Western Woods, in hopes of connecting with druidic magic. (Little is known of Tolya's life, beyond his intermittent service as a veldtpatroler. There is no record of his promotion beyond the rank.) He and his bankhur lived largely as hermits, but made connections with several of the Woods' druidic circles, most notably the Circle of the Lightkeepers and the Circle of the Crown-Fire Keepers. Though he never joined either formally, he seemed to have had an unusual connection with extraplanar magic and travel. He provided both groups, as well as others in the Woods, with valuable information from the Astral Plane, the Feywild, and the Elemental Planes during this period.   Khan was appointed as a Rangatira in the service of Crown-Fire Grove in Y1071, after defending the town of Aajintéa from an invasion of the Sluagh. He became known in the Kháivara Conclave for his uncanny ability to predict future threats to the woods well before they were evident to others. For this, and for his leadership during the khemonga epidemic of Y1073-82 and the prozhg'atua of Y1078, he was elected Arakhi Rangatir'nghére in Y1084. His Staff of the Arakhi Rangatir'nghére was a massive combat staff made of poplar wood.   Khan was notably absent during the Beast Moon Conclave of Y1105, something unheard-of for a sitting Arakhi Rangatir'nghére since Heketoro's disappearance in the War of Great Sorrow. He returned at the Worm Moon of Y1106 without his bankhur, noticeably grimmer, wearing a new Rangatir'tiären woven of his bankhur's fur. Its proclamations were cryptic and intense, and he refused to allow others to touch it.   Khan's last prophecy held that the traditional enemies of the Western Woods (namely, the Prostomurakhim and the Pack of the Black Claw) had become pawns in a dire conflict that threatened the whole of the planar and extraplanar landscape. He led a band of veteran warriors on a highly secretive mission to combat the threat. Only one returned alive, bearing his coat and staff, who died of his wounds shortly thereafter and was unable to be resurrected or contacted by any means.   Khan's staff was planted in the Crown-Fire Grove's Copse of Memories, as is tradition, but was felled in an unusually powerful thunderstorm several weeks later. Per his last wishes, his rangatir'tiären was delivered to the Torch of Tygrar, in hopes of it reaching his long-lost brother Tolya. Though Tolya was unreachable, his biological son Ganbold Tsuv was found in the Regiment of the Eastern Front, and has worn the coat since. The current location of Ganbold—and the coat—remains unknown.
