Borderlands
The Borderlands are the region of the Haldara Peninsula between Cantonova and the mainland of Dreibach, primarily consisting of the Gaeno Woods and the towns of Modére, Nolber, and Lomelindë. Their ownership is a major point of contention between Cantonova (with whom they are geographically and culturally aligned) and the Dreibach Empire.
Geography
The northern bounds of the Borderlands are the Great Gate of Cantonova, which lies at the northern banks of the mouth of the Dreibach River. The land is a flat, fertile floodplain, with lightly forested areas that become denser towards the south. The Gaeno Woods are at the southern border of the region, though settlements within the woods are usually considered part of the Borderlands as well.

Population
The primary population centers of the Gaeno Woods are the town of Modére in the north, the village of Lómelindë in the south, and the primarily druidic conclave of Nolber in the west. The population of the region is overall heavily halfling in comparison to neighboring areas.Localized Phenomena
Fey sightings are common in the Borderlands, as fey-windows (miniature, often one-way portals) between the Summer Court and the Material Plane are often found in the surrounding woods. Pixies, faerie dragons, and even the occasional unicorn are spotted in the region with some frequency, and welcomed by the locals as guests. However, less-benevolent fey—goblins, redcaps, and displacer beasts among them—are known dangers to travelers along the Vía Titania at night.
Tourism
"I hope you'll find in these pages a compelling argument for the charm and wonder of the region. It's accessible even for the most naïve of travelers, and yet holds interest and beauty even for the more experienced among my readers. Even the most jaded of adventurers could benefit from a stop in the region... perhaps especially those most jaded, if only as a respite between haunted, forbidding landscapes and deeds of daring-do."The Borderlands are a common stop for travelers along the Vía Titania, and feeding and housing these travelers is a major industry of the region. A number of innkeepers maintain idyllic woodland cabins on the outskirts of Modére and Lómelindë to cater to wealthy Cantonovans seeking a break from busy city life. Several fairs in the region, such as Modére's annual Arts and Crafts Festival, also attract tourists and day travelers from Cantonova and the Southern Duchy of Dreibach.
