Elf
The Elven species is a group of sentient humanoid creatures that inhabit the world of Omne. Thought to have descended from the Edhellen, who migrated to Omne from the Feywild during the early Age of Awakening, elves are one of the oldest known inhabitants of the world.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Elves are both leaner and more diverse in height than their human counterparts; as such, their average height is difficult to determine. Most elves fall between four and a half to six and a half feet tall. Their average weight ranges from 80 to 140 lbs; considerably lighter than comparable humans.
While there are some elves who show signs of age, the vast majority of the species do not change in appearance over time; to an outside observer, an elf that has only just reached adulthood bears no physical difference than one that had lived for a thousand years.
Elves possess slightly larger eyes and sharp, angular facial features, often more exaggerated than other sentient species.
Additional Information
Social Structure
Given their exceptionally long lifespans, most elven cultures are organized in some version of a gerontocracy, the eldest hold far more social and political sway than the younger. This is seen most prominently in high elven culture; the three most ancient elves (the Everlasting Prince, Princess, and King) each rule the three most prominent high elven nations.
Geographic Origin and Distribution
Though far fewer in number when compared to other common species, a considerable portion of land in the world of Omne is comprised of elven nations.
