Dragons are among the oldest sentient life in all of Omne. Powerful and fierce, the dragons are thought to have once held the largest dominion of any previous ruling species. They are also credited with the creation of many lesser races.

Basic Information

Anatomy

While the anatomy of a dragon can vary widely depending on its race, the most common recurring anatomical aspects are listed below:

  • Environmental Scales. The color and texture of a dragon's scales are initially determined by ancestry, but have been observed to adapt to the dragon's surrounding environment after an inconsistent period of time.
  • Arcane Breath. Most dragons are capable of triggering a magically infused reaction from within their throat. This reaction, commonly known as dragon breath, takes the form of an element or arcane substance. Much like a dragon's scales, the manifestation of their breath has been observed to be heavily linked to the dragon's environment.
  • Reptilian Wings. Many dragons, most commonly those of the Dhruul lineage, possess scaled, leathery wings capable of supporting the dragon through an indefinite airborne period.

Ecology and Habitats

While dragons are capable of residing in nearly any biome or condition, they can most commonly be found in secluded areas of high elevation, such as mountains. or highlands.

Biological Cycle

The body of a dragon is confirmed to possess biological immortality, speculated to have manifested as a characteristic of the draconic species' inherent ties to the arcane font.

Throughout a dragon's growth period, the following stages have been observed:

  • Birth to 6 months - Hatchling. Leading up to and shortly following a dragon's hatching from their egg, a dragon is
  • 6 months to 5 years - Wyrmling.
  • 3 to 30 years - Youth.
  • 30 to 500 years - Adulthood.
  • 500 - 1500 years - Ancient.
  • 1500 years and beyond- Collosi.
