Halfling
Halflings are an interesting sort. They have been renowned as the most courageous and adventurous race in the world. Halflings are known for taking the opportunities and turning them into legends. As a matter of fact, halflings have a few places named that every race recognizes as the designated name for those places. An example is some island countries towards the north called, “Rudy’s Ruin”, because of an adventurer that had a horrific experience there. These halflings will always find a place in society, and halflings will go out of their way to prove themselves at almost any cost. Usually hired as mercenaries and guides due to how fearless they are, halflings will always be considered the most capable for the job with cunning and resourcefulness.
Halfling Traits and Culture
Halflings and Personality
Halflings enjoy adventure above most things. They seldom stay in one spot for long, unless their adventures have driven them to root themselves in place. Halflings enjoy collecting books and trinkets from their adventures and passing them down as heirlooms to their kin. Halflings can be rather impulsive and rash with their decisions. This mostly comes with the territory of being extremely curious and easy to bore.
Halflings and Physical Descriptions
Halflings tend to be about 3 1/2 to 4 feet tall and weigh about 35-45 pounds. Their skin is usually olive toned or sun-kissed. Their hair can be seen in the many shades a Human's can be, as can their eyes. It has been noticed that halflings tend to reach adulthood at the age of 20 and will live for around 300 years.
Halflings and Relations
Halflings enjoy the company of anyone, and it seems as if everyone enjoys the company of halflings. Halflings being renowned storytellers and pleasant company overall has led to other races readily welcoming them into their homes.
Halfling Culture and Their Lands
Halflings tend to live amongst other races, as opposed to their own kind. Usually they will find a community of halflings to live amongst, but only so they can have a place to store their treasures and trinkets from their many adventures.
Halflings and Religion
Halflings actually have a small pantheon, but this pantheon is reliable for their worship and appreciation. They are actually called “Gods”, of which there are only two: Xur, the God of Luck and Amalda Underhall, the Goddess of Death. Thus, hobbits have the saying, “Better lucky, than dead.”
Halflings and Language
Halflings tend to speak and write in the Common Tongue. They barely have any written works due to them having oral traditions. Their racial language is a well kept secret amongst halflings, thus being unknown to the vast majority of the other species in Omen.
Halflings as a Playable Race
Halflings Traits
Halflings, just like dwarves and gnomes, have rather short legs. They also have a smaller frame and general physique than most other races.
Considering their bravery, which by no means is luck, they have shown that they have an easier chance with dealing with fear.
Halflings are rather lucky. Some say blessed by Xur himself. This is the only observable explanation as to why hobbits are capable of such feats that save their lives more often than not.
Being the second smallest race, halflings are harder to hit, and everything is bigger in comparison to them. On top of this, halflings are capable of hiding particularly well.
Halflings are incredibly reliable when it comes to their agility and ease of movement. However, considering their small stature, just like gnomes, halflings suffer in terms of their strength.
Halflings are very adept at fighting at a range. Typically starting with throwing stones, then getting a slingshot, until eventually it becomes a bow or throwing knife. This training helps them show off and develop a skill most others would dream of.
Halflings are very perceptive and thus their eyesight and hearing is higher than that of the average human.
Halflings, being well traveled, like to learn the languages of their newfound friends. Alternatively, they want to make sure their stories are understood.
