The Cure League
A doctor sits in his office and cleans his surgical tools after a successful operation. The subject behind him is still under the anesthesia on the table and is now saved from a fatal infection. The doctor removes his long leather mask and takes a breath of relief. He reviews his notes once more on the patient as the assistants come back in to take away the patient. The comfort in his Vereti office helps remove some of the stress from the operation.
In a small town in southern Oracesis, an elf rushes from building to building in a quarantined zone. Her garb bounces as she runs and beads of sweat fall down behind her mask and flasks clink together in her satchel. She enters another building with rows of sick and dying as doctors tend to them. She rushes to the Exemplar, a doctor with white robes and a red mask. She silently passes him the bottles and they return to work.
When the world is poisoned with disease and faith in one's deity is not enough to cure the masses. Then you will have to find other methods. The Cure League is a group of dedicated physicians, surgeons, alchemists, and researchers who band together to rid the world of pestilence. These men and women have treated thousands of patients and kept several cases from turning into epidemics.
Structure
At the head of The Cure League is a group of five of their greatest doctors known as "The Exemplars". They lead the organization with each one being the head of some sort of medical field. There is the Exemplar of Surgery, the Exemplar of Alchemy, the Exemplar of Sanitation, the Exemplar of Psychology, and the Exemplar of Research. All of them lead their respective field with lieutenants beneath them that go into further subcategories. Examples: Exemplar of Surgery, Lieutenant of Anatomy, Lieutenant of Physiology. Exemplar of Alchemy, Lieutenant of Biochemistry, Lieutenant of Herbalism, Lieutenant of Chemistry.
Public Agenda
Their agenda is to cure the world. They were founded during a time where plagues nearly destroyed the world, they will not let it happen again.
Assets
The Cure League is a group of doctors and works as such with over 750 members. However these doctors also consist of army doctors, skilled practitioners of the arcane, surgeons who know anatomy like the back of their hand, and many have a vast knowledge of alchemy. When you stumble across a doctor on the road, don't always assume that he is easy prey for the wandering bandit.
History
The Cure League was formed during the middle of the Clash. The Material Plane was stricken with plagues engineered by the King of Rot. Clerical magic worked, bu was not enough to cure the masses of sick people. A convention was held in Valleon by all the doctors that could attend. They began collaborating, creating, and travelling curing the populace with experimental treatments. Sadly not all of those treatments worked, but enough did work and managed to stave off the extinction of mankind until another day. They were around but were not as large or well funded as they are now. When Alamae died and clerical magic began to fade ever so slightly, the doctors came to the aide of the infirm. Their numbers were bolstered, their coffers were filled by kings across the world, and their cures worked wonders.
To cure one, is to possibly cure hundreds
