Exemplar

The Exemplar is an esteemed title an office within The Cure League and a certain number of qualification must be attained in order to be named Exemplar. First, one must be able to master every aspect of the office they wish to attain. Those who claim to have mastered must go through rigorous testing by a group known as the Ghidul Medicului. A group of experienced doctors, numbering 50 members who structure the test for each participant. They are often the eldest of the guild and have studied for much of their life.   Secondly, one must hold all of their mental and physical faculties. In order to hold a station that shows great mastery of the mind and unshakable judgement, one must be in their right mind in order to hold such an office. Numerous tests done by fellow doctors are done to ensure that the mind and body of the Exemplars is in great health. They are checked for cognitive functions, reaction time, sanity, and emotional response.   Thirdly, the one who seeks to become an Exemplar must graduate from one of the universities of the Curors Collogrea. A few selected schools that are either founded by the Cure League, or selected by the League in order to teach their doctrine and subjects. The Cure League have founded schools and places of study throughout Omeath, but the ones where the Exemplar must graduate are the University of Exemplar Helain in Colchosa, Veret, the Physicorium Universidade in Aymara, Marceas, and His Majesty Yashore's School of Medicine in Gerde, Rindra.   Once they have completed and passed all the tests, examinations, and have graduated from the university selected by the council of Exemplars. Their names are placed into a pool to be selected to rise to the title.

One must be of a certain age to hold the title of Exemplar. For each species it is different, as different species reach maturity at different times. Humans, Halflings, Drakizi, and Orcish members must be 31 years of age in order to hold the office of Exemplar. Dwarves must be 67 and Elves must be 124.   The individual must also share no relation with the Exemplar whose office they are filling. This rule is newer in the Curor's Constitution as an Exemplar several decades ago tried to rule the guild with his own form of a dynasty.

Once a hopeful has passed every test and meets every criterea of becoming an Exemplar, their name is placed into a pool. They are not allowed to speak or meet with any of the people whose names are in the pool within two months of the changing of office. The Exemplar will then pick their successor to lead the Cure League.   "Curonation. Exemplar Teldoris, may he rest in peace, should have been Exemplar of Humor, not Research. All these official titles and the celebration given to new Exemplars is a jeu de mots." -Unnamed student at the Physicorium Universidade   Once it is done, the new Exemplar attends a curonation. Despite the humor in the name, it is an official and respected tradition among the member of the Cure League. The new exemplar must give a lengthy speech to a crowd of what will become subordinates. He is then given the Exemplar Robes, Masks of Knowledge and is inducted into the Council of Exemplars.

The duties of the Exemplars are to oversee the activities and status of the Cure League in their station. They keep track of experiments, expeditions, quarantines, and outreach being done by their subordinates. Many actions do not need their acceptance, but several actions undertaken by member of the Cure League require the approval of the Exemplar. Some actions even require the supervision of the Exemplar themselves, or their direct assistants. Expeditions to faraway or unexplored lands, dangerous research, or outreach into dangerous territory must be approved by the Exemplar.   The Exemplar also has a number of duties themselves. They are still doctors who go about the treatment and care of numerous patients, as well as having their own crafts such as alchemy, surgery, or arcana.

The station of Exemplar is offered little monetary gain, but are given numerous material benefits as well as political power. They are offered the wide breadth of the Cure League's resources. Alchemical reagents, mineral resources, and a substantial budget. However, overuse or abuse of these materials can see the station stripped away from the Exemplar. They also hold a fair amount of political power for the leader of a guild.

The Robes of the Exemplar and the Masks of Knowledge are the uniforms of the Exemplars. The robes are the official wear of the Exemplars and are well crafted of sturdy cloth. Long black wool robes are inlaid with silks matching the color of their office. These robes are lightly armored with bronze plates along the shoulders and chest. Arcane runes are etched into the surface of the bronze and offer some magical properties to the wearers.   The Masks of Knowledge are the true treasures of the Exemplar's equipment. These masks are well crafted by fine and exotic materials, imbued with magic to enhance the abilities of the Exemplar. It enhances the intellect of those who wear them, allowing for quicker calculation and reasoning. It also offers the user enhanced memory and greater arcane ability.   Each mask is created with the charicature of a different bird. the Exemplar of Research's is the intelligent crow. Made from black and blue stained leather with glass goggles. The Exemplar of Surgery's mask is inspired by the swan, made from white leather and black and red stained patches creating the image of the graceful bird. The Exemplar of Alchemy is reminiscent of a hummingbird. The gatherers of nectars from flower and field inspired the creator of the mask. The long beak of the mask is black leather with green down the middle. The main mask is made from black stained leather with bright green etchings along the cheeks. The Exemplar of Sanitation is the peaceful and beautiful dove. The goggle are stained blue glass and are made from layered leather made from hides stained in various greys, culminating in a bright white. The mask of the Exemplar of Psychology is the Sparrow. This mask is made of black leather but is inlaid with gold stained leather that creates a triangle pattern along the cheeks. Each mask is imbued with a number of spells that assist the Exemplar in their duties.

During the Ruination, numerous gods fell to the blades and claws of the Crowns. As the divines faded, the faithful on the surface who required their aid found silence and emptiness in their prayer. Healers bestowed with divine power lost all connection and plagues ran rampant. A group saw the terror on the faces of their fellow mortals and sought to aid their misery. Thise group would go on to be known as the Cure League. The organization was leaderless, but had a singular goal. They sought to cure the world and in doind so wandered to every edge of the world bringing medicine and aid to those who needed it. Without their assistance, the plagues would have left numerous cities as ghost towns and ruins.   Before they were considered an official organization by the states and realms of Omeath, they created the Curor's Constitution. A doctrine that dictated the mission and actions of the organization. The creators of the organization broke down each of the studies into different branches, each falling under a larger branch. They managed to create five great trees of study and each would be led by an Exemplar.
