Hýhïd-Tëžem

The Hýhïd-Tëžem, short for Hýyó-Hayïd-Tëžem, refers to the western cities of the Hýyó-Hayïd, that is, those denoted by Gýbakk as being primarily oriented for the harvesting, collecting, and distributing of rocks from the Arbin Watershed. Although much less well known than the eastern cities, which are often synonymous with the Maðúšýï Tribe, the western cities nonetheless made up 80% of the total tribal territory and around 45% of the population. As the two sides took on their different roles, they would diverge from each other in cultural and artistic values, societal organization, and governnace. This article primarily contains the western regions and the way of life of the people there.

For all of its history, the Hýhïd-Tëžem were centered in the cities of Tý-hayïd and Yuževhït, which were both created during the Hayïdic Expedition and thus represent the oldest such cities in the entire region. It was over there that they first adapted to the harsh winds of the southern Amoŋot Desert, quickly creating their own Ótaš-Hayïd architectural and artistic style and constructing vast arrays of roads for use in transporting supplies. In contrast to the east, where blatant neglect of all other aspects of life beyond raiding was the norm, the western cities fostered a sense of cultural cohesiveness, as the frequent contact each individual had with others was the basis by which they could share and spread the values and ideas they had. It would be this sheer difference between the eastern and western cities that would save the latter from destruction when the Varhoŋïð-Khalúš Tribe invaded during the First Varhoŋïan War of 24976 AYM.
