Namagai

East of the Cynnish Rises lies a desolate, yet beautiful land. A collection of plains, marshes, and forests named Zuunif. Here, the Namagai walk the endless wetlands. A seemingly borderless stretch of earth that the Namagai live, eat and die in. A balance that has existed for thousands of years. However, from the west, another force has disrupted this peace, building castles and towns as they go. The Tyraqi empire.  

Appearance

Though similar to the common Cenathan with typically darker hair and lighter skin, with a slight tan, the Namagai do have their differences. The most obvious is the way they decorate themselves. It is a common tradition for the Namagai to paint themselves in glowgel, a substance harvested from various creatures found within the Riftlands. While it is not used to the same extent as the people of Ern, an island off the eastern coast of Cenath, the Namagai do still use this substance to adorn their bodies with patterns and animals.   Furthermore, glowgel is often used during rituals devoted to the Widows of Heptish, a polytheistic faith believed almost exclusively by the Namagai. During these rituals, glowgel is painted on every hut and the entire tribe sits in ringed circles for an entire night. This occurs on every full moon.  

Conflict

With the Cynnish Rises to the west and the foul bogs being their home, the Namagai have remained mostly untouched by the rest of human society. This has allowed them to grow distant, forming their own religions, languages, and culture. Though in recent times, things have begun to change ever so slightly. As Tyraq once again begins to grow hungry for land and riches, regions that have never before been conquered are beginning to feel the wrath of Tyraq. With Cynfel having already fallen victim to Tyraq, the tribes of the east are predicted to soon follow suit with western influence already creeping its way in. Meism has become a largely followed faith throughout Zuunif and many once prospering Namig villages have been torched to the earth.
