Mountain Dwarves

The dwarves who live in the Red Mountains, which is almost all of them, are known as Mountain Dwarves. They are short and stocky, and their skin has a thick and stony texture while their hair is silky and smooth. They can see just fine in the dark, and have a nose for minerals and metals. It is said they can feel the state of the dirt beneath their feet, and tell if they're standing on precious metals.

Basic Information

Dwarves are shorter on average then a human, with the basic humanoid features.

Genetics and Reproduction

Dwarves reach sexual maturity much slower than humans and elves, and they take a year to incubate a child. As such they are quite okay with slow work, because everything gets done eventually.

Dwarves reach sexual maturity at around 32 years of age, and are fully grown at about 41. They typically live about 400 to 600 hundred years.

Additional Information

Social Structure

The dwarves follow the rule of a King, but after a while the title became somewhat of a figurehead. The rules of Dwarven society are well known to them, and if they are abused the Judges will deal with them.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Dwarves are almost exclusively found in the Red Mountains.

Average Intelligence

Dwarves are quite intelligent, as each one can be a master at several crafts.
