Wild Magic Events

Wild Magic is the term created for when Magic itself flows freely with no direction or purpose. Wild Magic is unpredictable, and may even be harmless or calm depending on the circumstances. But be careful, as the slightest disturbance, emotional or physical, could set it off, causing nearly anything to happen. A wild magic event may occur when a caster initiates a Call but does not follow through with a subsequent Order. Lower level spells will oft not require the sheer amount of energy necessary for wild magic to be truly dangerous, but as mages become more and more powerful, they must be ever more vigilant to ensure the potent levels of energy they call do not slip and become uncontained.

Some areas in Okenaos can be permanently damaged by intense arcane events, and the energy of magic begins to seep into the land surrounding these wounds. These areas are near constant sources of wild magic events.
