Welcome whimsical and wacky wanderers.
Time passes in all things. And as time passes we grow into our true selves. And my true self is a person who enjoys the things that make myself and those around me unique. Living in the most isolated major city in the world, wildflower season was always something you go to. The pure up and down vertical scar of a city I live in means you journey to the edges and to find the flowers in that part of the year that's not quite out of the wet season and just entering the dry season but before it becomes hot as balls. Needless to say, getting out into the bush around this time always means bursts of colour and the casual sounds of lazy bird cry as you do a bit of hiking.
Whiskey on the other hand is a taste of my adulthood. I started a beer drinker - cheap, light and fruity with in your face tastes is where I used to be and then when I was learning my craft a teacher showed me whiskey and I've been lovestruck ever since. I'm all about intensity of flavour and experience and whiskey for me brings that, along with the complexity of flavour that feels unique to it. But its also warm fires and good company and listening to the rain outside.
Needless to say, this challenge is about vibrancy and August to November kind of vibes - passed through a southern hemisphere feel. And while I don't know if you northern hemisphere-ers have this combo, I am curious to see what this combination of ideas produces.
The opening time is between the 15th of September and the 15th of October (say 5pm +8GMT but I aint holding you to it)
There is no judging, but I'm going to do my best to wax poetically in the comment section of every entry. If you do participate, please tag me with #WhiskeyandWildflowers (with the e)
This is an Unofficial Challenge :P
Guidelines of Spirit
- Try for greater than 400 words - let us all try to push ourselves this time.
- Try not to use AI generated art - there's no judging here and I much prefer to see whatever you guys can create - if you need a picture try a photo maybe.
- Tag your works and pass me an article block in the comments, makes it easier for me and other to see you
- We are starting theme agnostic, so anything that feels whiskey or wildflowers or heck if you're inspired by my drabble, go with that, just try to join me in this headspace and see where we can head
