Arion

,,All heroes yearn for an aventure''

Personality:

Pros:

Arion is an adventurous, but introverted person. He is a brave person, who isn't afraid to venture into dark ruins or do a dangerous job. He likes to help people regardless of who they are, as long as it isn't something evil, or too difficult for him to handle. Arion is a pacifist, calmly solving encounters, mainly with diplomacy, only using violence as the last resort. He also likes to trade and haggle whenever he gets the chance to.

Cons:

Because of his adventurous personality, Arion often disregards signs of danger or warnings in pursuit of adventure, which sometimes results in him getting hurt. He tends to be close-minded with his beliefs, mainly the religious ones, shutting down any attempts to challenge them. Arion also is quite vengeful. If someone messes with him too much, he'll make sure they regret it.

Motivation:

Arion's motivation is to have as many adventures as possible and explore as many worlds as possible in his life. It is like his fuel. His secondary motivation is to obtain as many rare items and artifacts throughout his adventures as possible, whenever by trading, or searching for them.

Backstory:

Arion was the first child born into his family, who lives in a city on the Whitestone Island. His father was a merchant who bought things for cheap, then sold them for more in another settlement and his mother worked in an Ambrosia orchard.

Arion spent every single day of his childhood, outside of school, having adventures, either alone or with his friends. They've explored forests, lakes and sometimes even caves, returning home for dinner an repeating the next day. While their religion's officials warned his parents about his adventurous nature, they never payed much attention to it.

As Arion's family grew in numbers, they started to have financial problem. Because of this, he had to help out his family with all kinds of work, having basically no time to do what he loved. Arion's favorite job was helping out his father trade. This way, not only did he gained an interest in trading, but also learned important skills such as haggling.

But he never let off the desire of an adventure. It was all he could think about, his desire pulling at his mind without rest, every single day. As years passed, the desire only got stronger. He couldn't bare living in the same place, visiting the same location, for the rest of his life. It would go against his nature.

One day, he got into a talk with a stranger he was trading with. The man mentioned a strange figure who made special machines that could do all sorts of things, one of them being world travel. Arion knew about them. Machines of Gaurus, the machines created by the demon lord. He knew about them and that their use was punishable by exile, but the man told him how to get them. ,,If you desire one so much, search an you'll find it'' the man told him. That became Arion's goal. He was dead set on getting one of the machines.

On the same day, once he returned home, he got the new, that his sister. Calliope, said the name of the goddess. Her tongue was cut out as a punishment. Arion didn't really care much. He basically never even spoke to her, plus he got another job to do.

Arion spent weeks searching everywhere he could for the man that  had the machines, but he was unsuccessful. It was as if the man, nor the machines ever existed. But Arion didn't give up. It was all he did basically, but nothing changed. He started to doubt if the machines even existed, or if they were just a myth.

One morning, when Arion was preparing for another search, he caught a sight of his sister, Calliope. She looked like a different person from the last time he saw her. Her hair, face and even clothes were a mess, she lost so much weight, he could see her ribs. Arion couldn't bare seeing his sister like that. If his family and her wouldn't do anything about it, he would.

So, Arion went to Calliope's room to talk to her. He tried over and over to start a conversation with her, but she ignored him.  Arion left her alone for the rest of the day and tried again the next one. As he repeated the process, Calliope slowly warmed up to him, as they struck a conversation. Slowly, the siblings became friends, as his sister's health started to improve.

As Arion saw his sister doing well, he left again to search for the Machines of Gaurus. This time, he spent weeks alone, traveling across the island, until, one day, he found what he was looking for. His memory of the encounter is very foggy, but he remembers a strange white figure dressed in black.

After that, he returned home with his right had switched for a machine. Arion knew he was gonna get exiled, so he gathered his family to say goodbye and opened a portal to leave. Calliope, in that moment, rushed up to him. It seemed that she wanted to go  with her brother. Arion notice her health being worse again, so he took his sister, as they walked through the portal.

From that day, they travel across different world and have all kinds of adventures.

World travel:

For the last year, Arion and Calliope visited many world, had all sorts of adventures and met a lot of people, both good and bad. Because of their lack of combat skills and willingness to fight, they have to resolve issues using things like diplomacy, stealth and bribes, while avoiding combat to the best of their abilities, which doesn't always work out.

Adventures:

Their adventures mainly revolve around large conflicts that they managed to stumble into, where they try to resolve things peacefully, while avoiding conflict, which doesn't always work out. While Arion is at the front dealing with people, Calliope is in the background, not doing much. However, when her time comes, her help becomes invaluable, whenever it is resolving a tense situation, or even saving someone's life.

Arion's hand of Gaurus acts as a virtually endless storage. He carries all sorts of food, currencies, weapons, armor and much more he gathered on their adventures. It is virtually impossible to list everything he has.
