The Arrowpeaks
The Arrowpeaks are a large mountain range stretching across much of northeastern Obseron. Known for the sharp peaks that give it its name, the mountains are near impassable beyond a small number of narrow passes. Most of these passes are controlled by elves, who fortified them heavily during the Aurean Empires bloody invasion of Greenwood Valley. The guardians of these passes are often very selective with who they let through, so little trade and travel passes through. Elves also populate much of the lower slopes and the land on either side of the mountains, and orcs inhabit where they can amongst the higher peaks, occasionally raiding surrounding communities but mostly keeping to themselves.
In the east, the Arrowpeaks touch the Worldspine, Obseron's largest mountain range, which runs near parrallel to the south. A large, long, winding pass between them, known as the Nethrian Gates, runs between them. Guarded by series of large, heavily fortified city states, the Nethrian Gates are all that have stopped the growing Nethrian Empire to the east from an easy invasion of the largely anarchic Greenwood Valley, though a few cities in the pass have now fallen.
