Elves

Elves are medium humanoids common in much of Obseron. They are near indistinguishable from humans except for there slender features and long, pointed ears. Elves are especially notable for their incredibly long lives, sometimes reaching well over 700 years, giving them a very different outlook on the world than most other species, with a more long term perspective that leaves them less phased by events. Their long lifespans cause many elves to look down on other species, though they are equally likely to be friendly and generous, with both their time and wealth having less meaning on such a long scale.   Elves are one of the oldest humanoid species, possibly predating The Dragon War. Their origins are shrouded in mystery, some claim they were created by Arthara, others Xatha, while others claim a variety of other gods, though none know for certain. It is highly possible they originated in the feywild, where elves known as eladrin still reside, though this is also disputed.     Still more common than any species except for humans, orcs, and goblinoids (if taken as a group), elves are also one of the most varied. Since their creation, they have evolved into a variety of forms, living everywhere from the depths of the Underdark to the seas and even other planes. These include wood elves, the most common, who are unusually fast and among the swiftest of humanoid species; the high elves, who are unusually adept at magic; the dark elves, or drow, who dwell in the underdark; the aquatic sea elves who live underwater; and the ephemeral eladrin of the feywild.   Gods worshipped by elves vary widely. Some of the most commonly worshipped include Arthara, Xatha, and Illiar. Many sea elves worship Brinithar, while dark elf slavers often worship Dakath.
