Lantern of the Light (Light Magic)
He held his hand aloft and a fist-sized orb of white light appeared. It clearly illuminated everything around it for about ten feet and abruptly cut off, shedding very little light on anything further away. When he let his hand fall away, the orb remained where it had been left, perfectly still and suspended in air.
Effect
The Lantern of the Light calls forth a fragment of the Light itself. Anything it illuminates is revealed as it truly is, similarly to the eyes of the Illasil. It remains where it was placed until moved by the caster, either being physically carried or manipulated with mana. The Lantern cannot be interacted with by anyone but the caster, though it can be dispelled if it is exposed to sufficiently powerful interference.
Side/Secondary Effects
The Lantern is a focus for several other techniques. The power stored within it is usually consumed to perform those techniques. The light is inviting to look at for those aligned with the Light and is irritating to those opposed.
Manifestation
A fist-sized orb is the most common form the Lantern takes. It sheds soft white light in ten feet around it, passing though physical barriers and around corners.
Source
The Light of Ilarinel is channeled directly, allowing a fragment of the physical Light to be brought into the world.
