Trial of Fangs
The trial of fangs is a ritual performed by followers of Reginalia in order to declare oneself as a devout follower of Reginalia. One must obtain the scales of a great serpant, without weapons, and without killing the serpant itself. For success, at least 3 scales must be obtained, with more being considered virtuous. The shed skin of a snake is not considered acceptable; the scales must be taken off a living snake.
This is done to show one's strength, ability, mercy, and intellect.
History
The first follower of Reginalia encountered a great serpant, and was told he shall live only if he could obtain 3 scales in a fight to the death; and when he defeated the snake, he embodied the mercy of Reginalia, and refused to deal the final blow. There would be no sustinance gained from the death of this serpant.
Components and tools
The trial must be done weaponless.
