Reginalia

Queen of Animals Reginalia

Praise be to Reginalia, From her you are birthed, and to her grace you shall return.

Reginalia, Queen of Animals is the goddess of animals and the hunt. She believes in balance in all things. This means that killing an animal is not inherently sacrilegious, but disrespect of it would be. As such, she is often worshipped via animal sacrifice, but, in order for such a sacrifice to be made as an offering to her, all parts of the animal must be used, the animal must be killed humanely, and at a point in its reproductive cycle where it has had the opportunity to reproduce, where killing it would not endanger any young it may have, and the offering itself should be in the form of bones, antlers, or similar, with as much of the carcass used as possible for mundane means. A prayer to the queen is recited as the carcass is prepared:
Praise be to Reginalia, From her you are birthed, and to her grace you shall return.   Followers of Reginalia are often seen wearing her crest, which is a trifecta of a Rabbit, to represent prey animals, a snake to represent midlevel predators, and a bow to represent apex predators.
Reginalia, being tied deeply to the natural cycles of life and death, is particularly averse to the undead, and charms of her fellowship are particularly potent in working against undead of all natures.
Priests and Priestess of Reginalia, be they clerics, monks, or paladins wear the hides of preadators that they have hunted. The higher rank the follower, the greater their hunt will be, as hunts are seen as sacred. For instance, the cardinal of the human following of Reginalia in Altdorf wears the hide and scales of a basilisk, and, it is rumored that, somewhere deep within the forests of the wood elves, one cardinal wears part of the hide of a tarrasque. Such cloaks as these are considered precious artefacts, and are passed down by generations of preist(esses) as a means of choosing the successor to one's high position. Most lower preist(esses) make their cloaks themselves, out of their own hunts.
Becoming a fully-fledged priest(ess) of Reginalia entails, after training and study of her scripture and blessings, the successful hunt with simple weapons, of an apex predator to form one's cloak. As always, the predator's carcass must be used, and her prayer (above) must be chanted during preperation.
In addition to forming one's cloak out of animal hide, a proper priest of Reginalia shall braid a headdress out of twigs, and the thick, vinelike hair of a giant, and wear it when engaging in sacred activities, including duties as a priest, and hunting
Snakes are particularly sacred to Reginalia, as they were the first animals she created.
